RRRA ELECTIONS OFFICE [ELXN250220130003, DVSM 2000A] Standards and Requirements for Campaign Managers AGENCY: RRRA Elections (RE) ACTION: IMPLEMENTATION OF REGULATION. SUMMARY: The elections office is implementing regulations and informing participants in the 2nd RRRA Election of 2013 or potential participants of changes and new regulations applicable to CAMPAIGN MANAGERS. The 2nd RRRA Election is taking place beginning February 25th. This is the first day to pick-up nomination papers. POTENTIAL CANDIDATES are also at this time able to appoint a CAMPAIGN MANAGER if they so wish. If no CAMPAIGN MANAGER is appointed, all three (3) POTENTIAL CANDIDATES or CANDIDATES become responsible for the duties of the CAMPAIGN MANAGER. A CAMPAIGN MANAGER is considered an EXEMPT VOLUNTEER; the requirements of a CAMPAIGN MANAGER are the following: a.) Must be appointed by all three (3) POTENTIAL CANDIDATES or CANDIDATES; and b.) Must submit the Contract for CAMPAIGN MANAGER which must be accepted and validated by the elections office. The contract shall not be witnessed by a POTENTIAL CANDIDATE OR CANDIDATE or RRRA Staff. A CAMPAIGN MANAGER shall be voided by: a.) A statement revoking the CAMPAIGN MANAGER by any one (1) of the POTENTIAL CANDIDATES or CANDIDATES b.) The elections office, if, and only if, the CAMPAIGN MANAGER conducts him or herself in such a manner that threatens the integrity of the election or the personal safety of any student or employee. The CAMPAIGN MANAGER shall be responsible for submission of volunteer lists and shall be the only one to submit volunteers. In the event a team does not appoint a CAMPAIGN MANAGER, the volunteers must be submitted by all three (3) CANDIDATES. The CAMPAIGN MANAGER shall be responsible for the submission of the scrutineer list, for appointing a chief scrutineer and for requesting rulings from the CEO. The CAMPAIGN MANAGER shall be able to negotiate for their team. NOTE: This regulation sets out standards during the nomination period and the registration of CAMPAIGN MANAGERS but is not to be considered all inclusive and shall be administered alongside the Electoral Code, other regulations set out by the elections office and the interpretations of the Electoral Code as per the CEO and DEO.
