Pesticide used in India by Coca Cola


Example Pesticides such as DDT , lindane ,malathion and chlorpyrifos are used in Cola. The centre of Science and Environment found that the drink produced in India by Coca cola contained 30 times the level of pesticide residues that were permitted by the EU.

Caffeine Information Often Misleading on Energy Drink labels


Example CSE tested 16 samples of various energy drink brands available in India and found that 38% of the samples breached the permissible limit mentioned on the label, while 25% did not mention the caffeine content on the label. Worse, 44% breached the caffeine limit of 145 ppm. Red Bull want 320 ppm of caffeine to be allowed as the limit in these drinks , more than double the limit allowed on carbonated beverages

Excessive water usage


Example Coke was accused of draining the underground water table in India and elreasing industrial wastes . It was estimated that Coke used 15 million liters of ground water everyday for product and bottling operations and using 65 wells thus depleting the underground water levels. Coca cola was also accused of consuming so many gallons of water that it created sever water shortages and destroying the soil of the neighboring farms

Health effects
Toxins including DDT , lindane ,malathion and chlorpyrifos lead to deadly diseases like cancer and a weaken the immune system of the human body. Phosphoric Acid in Coca-Cola and Diet Coke has been shown to destroy bones by contributing to osteoporosis and destroying teeth Aspartame, now known as AminoSweet, has been linked to numerous diseases and health problems Excessive intake of caffeine lead to serious side effects such as insomnia, an increased or irregular heartbeat, agitation, irritability and seizure, and possibly even death.
