This diagram is different from the Concept Map discussed in Maxwell’s article.
Instead of using concepts, I organize the map based on the actors in my
research project. There are three main actors, industry/business,
college/university, and students. In the map I try to display the inputs and
outputs of each actor. Government and society are treated as external actors,
therefore, I am concerned about their inputs to the Industry-college-students
triangle, while ignoring the feedback to them from the triangle.

The immediate finding after I drew this diagram is that I need to enrich each
of the arrows, especially the currently scarce ones such as the output from
the students to colleges and industry, the output from the colleges to
industry ( I may focus more on the former since students is the primary
object of my project).

Another task for me is to explore the dynamics among these variables. I need
to find out which parameters influence others, in what way. For example, how
could the policy change to industry influence the donation or research
contracts to colleges.
