Project Proposal Guidelines

1. Introduction

Provide some background information about the issue or area that you intend to research.

- Background field and key concepts

Provide a background information on the issue/area of research, for e.g. Quality Management, Branding, Business Strategy, Product Innovation etc.
Do not start your proposal with discussion on a case organisation i.e. organisation/company selected as a case.

Indicate the possible entrepreneurs or organisations that will be involved in the study. State the Research Problem.

2. Focus for the study

The project should cover in depth, an aspect of your EMBA studies and should provide some insight into your selected topic. Your initial understandings of the projects topic based on about 10 references. Set out the key areas of your investigation and indicate 3 to 4 Research Questions that will drive your data collection

3. Expected outcomes and schedule of completion & timeline

Indicate the purpose of your study and show the outcomes you hope to achieve from this research. Are there some specific learning objectives that you aim to achieve? What schedule and timelines are you planning?

4. Planned Methodology

How would you plan to use the methodology, for example the Case Study Methodology in undertaking this study? What kind of people or organisations would you involve? What kind of questions will you be asking? What are the likely sources of data that you will be using? Is there some specific literature that can be used to set the background for your research?

5. Significance of the study


Explain the relevance of the study to: Your entrepreneurial interests The management of entrepreneurial activities Practice in your organisation or other organisations
