OBSERVATION REPORT FOR SCHOOL VISIT

Name of the School Observed: New Ormoc City National High School School Address: Brgy. Don Felipe Larrazabal, Ormoc City, Leyte Date of Visit: December 12, 2012

The New Ormoc City National High School is located at Brgy. Don Felipe Larrazabal, Ormoc City, Leyte about 1 km from the heart of the city. When I enter their campus, I went directly to the security guard and state my purpose of visiting the school. They asked for my name and make me sigh in their log book. These are for security reasons. As I roamed around the school campus, I notice that there are students who are just playing around the campus while others are having classes and there are also some others who are studying in their library. The students were very helpful when I asked them some information about their school. And the teachers were also very friendly; they attend to our every query and clarifications about their school. Furthermore, I also noticed that the school buildings or the classrooms were very conducive for the students learning. Most of the classrooms are well-decorated and is full of learning materials; it is also well-ventilated and well-lighted. Though there are still other classrooms that are not well constructed and on the process of renovation but the school have utilized it for its the best possible use. When I visited the principals office I noticed that is very clean and things were properly organized.

Your Analysis 1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular create impact on the learning of the students going to school? What are your conclusions?

The School Campus and the Classroom are very important for the students learning development. It creates a conducive environment for the students to learn many things which a student doesnt learn outside. It is where the students were able to learn to cooperate with others and thus able to socialize with other students as well. So, the campus and the classroom have a very important role in students development and without which the students may have difficulties or have improper learning skills.

2. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?

In relation to my previous knowledge of child and adolescent development, pupils learn easily if they were exposed to a friendly atmosphere, free from distractions and noises. They could easily learn if every meeting teacher uses variety and novelty of learning materials and motivate them always. In connection to my previous subject facilitating learning that in doing our task as a teacher I should follow the methods and techniques that are best for students to learn. If there will design my own methods and techniques for better earning and see to it that it is effective.
