This chart shows the range of notes and fundamental harmonics which a variety of instruments can produce. Of course each frequency and velocity of each instrument extends beyond their indicated range, but this will help you sit each instrument in your mix and consider harmonic multiples. Alternative tunings and variations on traditional instruments (for example, 5- and 6-string bass guitars) will deviate from the chart to some extent. The other, slightly more abstract definitions of frequency ranges are also included for reference.
