AFJ presents Cornwall Regional with Container of Medical Commitment
July 24th, 2012
JAMAICA--In lieu of their commitment to helping Cornwall Regional Hospital in Jamaica, the AFJ plans to present Cornwall Regional with a 40 Ft container filled with important and top of the line medical equipment at the hospital, on July 29th, 2012. With a value of 9 Million Jamaican Dollars the container to be presented includes: an ultra sound machine, vital signs materials, suction machines, a pulse-oximeter, defibrillators, nebulizers, electric beds, cribs, gurneys, and wheelchairs. Thanks to a strong relationship with the AFJ, the Cornwall Regional Hospital, located on the west side of Jamaica, is getting closer to being back on track to providing adequate support for their patients. We are so overjoyed, and excited to be receiving this donation. The AFJ are truly an incredible organization, and to be affiliated with them is an honor, said CEO of Cornwall Regional, Everton Anderson. AFJ seeks to ensure that the assistance we provide is evidence-based and that our efforts are spent maximizing impact and improving peoples lives, said Caron Chung, director of the AFJ. Admitting approximately 2,000 children annually to its pediatric ward, many of the hospitals admissions are due to infantile respiratory related illnesses, as well as cases of infectious disease. Unfortunately, however, the hospital generally lacks the medical equipment and services needed to provide for their patients. Run by executive Everton Anderson, and his team of well educated and experienced medical staff, the Cornwall Regional Hospital has been supporting over one million people for nearly four decades.
