Teachers Comments: Sam has been an absolute pleasure to teach this year. He has matured and has developed a lovely caring nature towards his peers. He has a mature outlook in his thinking and has been developing excellent leadership qualities. Sam has made excellent progress in all areas of his learning and accepts advice. He is learning to ask for clarification with more confidence. Sam challenges himself in everything he does and has learned to be an excellent peer tutor. He has developed a very comprehensive Eportfolio which shows evidence of his learning in both the curriculum areas and ICT skills. Sam has been an amazing peer buddy and mentor for students in the class.

READING
Assessment Results: (from E portfolio) Sam is reading well above his chronological age and is beginning to use strategies that will help him read between the lines to gain more meaning of the text. Sam is beginning to complete follow up activities that show his comprehension of the texts being read.

How You Can Help at Home: Encourage reading for enjoyment. Visit the library regularly. Read to your child and listen to them read.

WRITING
Assessment Results: (from E portfolio)
Sam has produced some enjoyable pieces of writing this year. He has learned to plan and articulate his ideas in a well thought out manner. Sam is gaining confidence in sequencing the main points and developing more complex sentences which is enabling him to become a successful writer.

How You Can Help at Home:


Have writing equipment available for your child. Get your child to write about some special events or letters to relatives.

MATHEMATICS
Assessment Results: (from E portfolio)
Sam is working at Stage 6 and has gained a lot of confidence in Maths. He has good multiplicative skills and can use mathematical strategies across a range of curriculums as well as understands how to use them in everyday life. He has a very competitive nature and enjoys being challenged at rapid recall of times tables and basic facts knowledge.

How You Can Help at Home: Take your child shopping and get them to add up what things will cost. Play maths games in the car. Practise Times tables with them.
