1.Definition :
– Hanging is a process in which the
body is suspended with a ligature
around the neck which causes
constriction of the air passage
preventing exchange of air
between the atmosphere and the
alveoli of lungs, leading to
asphyxia and death.
In hanging, the constricting
force is either the weight of
the whole body or the weight
of the head alone.
