Dear Sir or Madam, Turner Middle School is a public middle school located in Lithia Springs, GA. We seek to expand our efforts to improve the opportunities of our directly impacted learning community. We believe the a schools library media center should be the hub of a learning community. The media center should initiate and consistently support literacy within the community. We understand that this is best implemented when students are engaged and the parents are empowered. We are requested a financial donation in the amount of $1200.00 to provide after school literacy and enrichment for the parents and students, as well as partners in education within our community. The after school project will provide hands on workshops, book talks, and technical training. We plan to focus on positive motivators including reading for enjoyment, 21st century communication and web tools, cyber safety, etc. The workshops will help improve parental involvement in the education of students as well as improve and evolve the literacy and communication skills of our community at large.
