My husband Bruce and I worked together on updating our school webpages. Last year we were taught how to add a picture and a little information. We thought it would be great to let other teachers/parents know more about Differentiating Instruction and Multiple Intelligences while learning to add to the webpage. Our district has control over font size and layout of webpage. We are only able to add information to the center and right columns. Before this class I did not seek out more technology to be added in my first grade classroom. *I purchased 5 mp3 players and put 30 picture book stories on all of them. The students will be able to use them for Listening to Reading in the Daily 5. *I wrote up a letter to a company that likes to donate to schools asking if he would want to purchase a Smartboard, projector and document camera for my classroom so that I could add more technology into the classroom. I have not heard back from him yet but I will follow up this week with a phone call. If for some reason I dont get a smartboard I have access to one every morning. I have downloaded several first grade lessons from www.smarttech.com What a great site for interactive lessons. * I sent an email to the local college about adding FitBalls into my first grade classroom to get the students to increase their physical activity without interrupting learning time. The local college said they would love to help out by purchasing them.

Dare to Differentiate
Now it is time to try differentiation in your classroom. Below are several sites that contain multiple links to lessons and ideas that you can use. They are for a variety of grade levels and subjects. Have fun exploring and trying new things. Your students will have fun learning along with you. Good chance for you to model as a life long learner.(Tomlinson, 2001)
If you could only go to one site to work on differentiation, this is the one. Full of great ideas and lessons along with rubrics and assessments. A great one stop shop.

Assessments and Strategies for Differentiating Instruction: Strategies for Differentiating Instruction
We as teachers need to look at differentiating instruction as a simple 3 step process. Pre-assessment, On-going Assessment, and Final Assessment. At each step,
adjustments will be made to adapt to the students needs. (Tomlinson, 2001) The following links give examples of each type of assessments along with rubrics.
