JOB # 7 To Determine Elastic Critical Load Of Metal Column For Different End Conditions .

PURPOSE : To Make a Comparison Between Exp & Theoretical Elastic Critical Load For Column With Different End Conditions . APPARARUS :
Steel Column With Diff End Condition Vernier Caliper Foot Ruller Weights

RELATED THEORY
COLUMN :
It is a structural member subjected to axial compressive load . it is also known as compression member .

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IDEAL & READ COLUMN :

An ideal column is assumed to be a homogenous member of a constant cross section that is initially straight and is subjected to axial compression load which passes through the centroid of the member Real column is the one that is always having small imperfactons of material & fabrication & unavoidable eccentricity of the load .

TYPES OF COLUMN :
On The Basis Of Selenderness Ratio .

These Are The Column In Which The Load Passes Through The Centroid Of The Member .

ECCENTRICALLY LOADED COLUMN:

These Are The Column In Which Load Donot Pass Through The Centroid Of The Member . In Reality All The Column Ar Eccentrically Loaded Column .
