Word Battle

Supplies: 1 Word Battle Game board for each student Spelling or sight word list Pencil Directions: Players sit across from each other in a position where they can not see each others game board. Both players fill in their own game board with 6-8 words. Words can be placed both vertical and horizontal. Once the words are filled in, play can begin. The first player calls out a coordinate. Ex. (4,B) Player 2 tells them if they hit a letter or not. If the letter is hit play continues until the student either guesses the word or misses a letter. If a word is guessed the player needs to say You have sunk my ______ When a word is sunk it needs to be marked off of their list. It is then player 2s turn to guess a coordinate. Each player needs to keep track of their misses on their opponents side of the board. Play continues until all words are sunk on one board. The first player to sink all the words wins the game.
