Advice from a Recent Writing Workshop


The quality of writing improves when teachers mark less - back off secretarial aspect and just add positive comments. Research shows that the less we mark, the better the spelling becomes. Children should make own choices and write about what they want to write. Student choice leads to students writing more and being more motivated to write!

nWe will be collaborating in Unit 2, Media. nStudents will be developing their ability to sing in parts and playing recorder in preparation for playing band instruments in Year 6

In PE we will be covering the following strands. Body control and spatial awareness Games Individual Pursuit Health related activities Movement Adventure challenges The aim of PE in the PYP is to develop transdisciplinary skills promoting physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Children need to be in their PE uniforms and must have their hats and drink bottles on their designated PE days.
