Farewell Don Quixote

Something is hollow, empty, forsaken. Something is missing Deep in a place that should be green and fertile-ripe with life With lush forests that create canopies high above our heads And lift us above tall trees into the pink and purple skies.

Look at me. Listen for a minute. I have something for you. To make you see me and what I possess. I bring these broken gifts, Spiders and poison trickle through my fingers, up my arms, my neck Their soft feet tickle as they race into my brain- too late to leave.

Arms that reach for you, always empty, hold nothing in the night My love is toxic. And like Medusa, all who see me turn to stone Their hearts burn to black in penal fires that consume me and They die- like me. Two blue bodies crashing through oceans of ice

Hold me tight, so tight I wont feel the hurt when the breath wont come Its not too late to save yourself- swim to the surface- abandon this wreck I am a pirate without treasure- I only have pocketfuls of bones. Id give them all to you but the weight would drag you and drown you

You lie like me-steal like me- seek something dark like me Your hands are empty, too. You are hollow and broken like me. Vacant like a pretty colored shell. Were only alive for a moment When lambs kneel on bloody knees to worship our deserted temple.

I would drag my sacrificial offerings to your altar I would look into your eyes and push the blade deep I would do it all for you- if only it would set you free- save you So you could save me, feel me, free meLove me at last.
