LITERARY CONCEPTS FOR PRIDE AND PREJUDICE Author : Jane Austin Plot : The story is about love and

family values. Settings : Late 18th Century in Georgian England. Narration : Mrs. Bennet raises her five daughters; Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty and Lydia with the purpose of getting married with a rich husband that can support the family. They are not from the upper class, and their house will be inherited by a distant cousin if Mr. Bennet dies. Characterization : Mr Bennet and his arrogant wife. The 5 daughters; the beautiful Jane, the clever Elizabeth, the intelligent Mary, the immature Kitty and the wild Lydia. Genre : Novel with romance and drama Irony: We find the use of irony in this novel from its beginning to its end. All the story between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy is a total irony because at first they kind of dislike each other but later on they fall in love with each other.
