ALGEBRA 1 COLLEGE ALGEBRA 3 UNITS N/A

Course Description: This course cover real number system, algebraic and rational expression, linear equations, exponents and radicals, quadratic equations and inequalities. There are many problems which are proved difficult in the arm of arithmetic become far easier to solve when translated into algebra. Course Objectives: General Objectives: To gain knowledge and to instill into the minds of the students an appreciation of the values of algebra. Specific Objectives: 1. To trace the development of the real number and identify the properties and fundamental theorems in the set of real numbers. 2. To perform the fundamental operations on signed numbers and algebraic expressions. 3. To solve equations and inequalities and apply it on word problems. 4. To factor polynomials. 5. To simplify and perform the fundamentals operations on rational expressions and radicals. COURSE OUTLINE TOPICS 1.
