David Folkerts is the chief operations officer at Project Healing Waters. He first joined the army in 1999 with the Nebraska Army National Guard, and in 2005 he was deployed to Iraq where he suffered a devastating injury that changed his life. In this episode David speaks with me about his experience as an injured veteran, and shares how he became involved with Project Healing Waters. Project Healing Waters is a special organization that’s dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled vets. Through fly-fishing and associated activities, including education and outings, they have made a difference in thousands of people’s lives and are planning on continuing to do so. This episode of Anchored is dedicated to all the military men and women who have risked their lives for us over the years. Thank you for your service, your dedication, and your selflessness.
