    Preface

    ––––––––

As more States in the United States of America accept and adapt to Remote/WebCam notarization, there is a basic understanding in the process that Notaries Public need and want to keep in mind: when we deal with online transactions, we participate in a cyberspace environment. That position places the Remote or WebCam Notaries in the frontline of our Nation’s defense when countering Cyber-warfare. In a way, when notaries public provide Remote/WebCam notarization, that makes Cyber-Notaries fraud-deterrent agents in the cyber environment.

More than reviewing your State or Commonwealth Laws often, becoming familiarized with the proper maintenance of the hardware, software, and the recommended online companies that facilitate online signing are only a few good practices that should become natural habits for Cyber-Notaries.

This book is mostly intended to make Remote/WebCam Notaries, or what I call Cyber-Notaries, aware of the sensible side of the Cyber-environment. It is true that there is a lot of flexibility protected by encryption; however, the cyber-environment protection will still depend on cyber-notaries by following proper steps and by developing good habits when performing cyber-notarizations.

On this <> version of Remote/WebCam Notarization, the focus is on Virginia Notaries and specific areas that will keep Virginia Notaries motivated and enjoying the Public Officer role granted by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

One Commissioned Virginia Notary helping/educating another Commissioned Virginia Notary in the area of Remote Notarization.

Together, we will be able to develop and educated field in Remote Notarization today in order to serve as Remote educated notarial leaders of tomorrow.
