      DEAR DIARY

      A sad young girl

      Flashback

      Sand in my toes, a cold breeze of wind, warm water, and a shattered heart. A broken heart that was broken so long ago. A broken young girl who wanted love, she wanted someone to save her because she couldn't save herself. A warm heart that cried with every beat, eyes filled with tears. Tears made of anger and pain, tears made of sweet honey that would melt her pillow.

      She thought it was love, she thought he loved her but she was wrong. She found an outlet, she found comfort but it wasn't healthy. Her pain from an event changed her forever. She would never be the same after that afternoon, she cried every night while those around her slept. She would cut, she would scream, she would lash out to those who didn't understand her. She craved a love so deep the Ocean would be jealous.

      …. I just want someone who cares enough to worry about me, to make sure I take my medicine every day. To ask how I'm doing, to care enough! I want someone to love me through all my struggles and flaws.

      Today was a hard day, I spent it with my cousin, A'oleon and her newborn baby girl. I only feel happy when I'm around her, she moved away when I was a young girl and didn't see her again until I was a lot older.

      Flashback:

      I walked into Wendy's looking at my phone, thank god! I made it before they closed. They normally close at midnight, and I hope that they'll still serve me since it's 10 minutes before they close.

      "Oh, My God!!" I heard a young girl scream

      "A-A’oleon Ka’Wazay? I mean Okawmmay? I love you so much, I can't believe you're right here in this Wendy's, at this hour!" she screamed with excitement

      "It's nice to meet you too, honey. What's your name?"

      My cousin? I can't believe it's her. We haven't seen each other in years. I still remember her playing dolls with me when I was a young girl.

      "Norella, I'm half African and Italian. I've been to your conferences and your tours. You're so beautiful in person, your skin is perfect. You spoke about Mental Health and how important it is!"

      "Sweetie, you're yelling" she softly chuckled

      "Oh, sorry. Can you sign my bag?" she held up her Wendy's bag filled with food

      "Thank you for noticing that, I'm more known for my Fashion Designing and Modeling. How, old are you?" she asked

      "Yes, I suffer from Bipolar Disorder and I love you so much. I read the piece you wrote to younger girls and, it touched me so much. I-I'm 17, almost 18" the fan softly cried

      A'oleon hugged her softly, Honey, it's going to be okay. It's going to work out, please believe that. Look at me

      The fan looked up at her like she was a god, It's going to be okay, we all have something that bothers us on a daily basis. But, we have to believe it's going to be okay. You're a beautiful young girl, you're going places. Remember that no matter what comes your way, everything will work itself out. If you've read my self-love book, then you'll know that even I've had struggles. But, I never gave up. I kept going and now look at me? I have my dream career, a beautiful and loving husband, 5 special babies whom I love more than life itself, and a family I always wanted but never had growing up

      "I love you, you really have changed the way I look at things"

      "Here's my card, email me sometime. I'd like to know how things are going" she smiled

      "Oh, wow! Thank you, I will, I promise"

      A'oleon grabbed her bag of food walking towards the door, Elizabeth? she asked with a shocked expression

      "It's me"

      She pulled me into her arms, My baby, I can't believe you're around here again. We have to catch up

      End of Flashback

      Since that day I've been living here in Tacoma, she goes back and forth with her family to Chicago, but she still comes here for work.

      Elizabeth, what's wrong? she asked me. I put my pen down, closing my Diary.

      Just thinking about some things, work being one of them

      I'll try, just tomorrow I have a big meeting for the new campaign. I'm not looking forward to this, I just want to sleep

      She looked at me with a sad but concerned expression. Have you been taking your medicine?

      I couldn't help it, I snapped. I stood up glaring at her, DON'T ask me that! I take that shit and it still doesn't fucking work for me! I still remember everything, I still remember him raping me. I still remember his body on top of mine, nobody believed me! I want the memories to go away!

      I know, Elizabeth. But-

      I walked over to the front door of my condo, I want to rest now

      She grabbed her purse walking towards me, This isn't the way

      I closed the door behind her, then I instantly felt guilty. Halfway into the living room and I fell to my knees, I covered my face with my hands feeling guilty. I'm pushing everyone away because I'm not well. I'm not healthy, and it's showing. I'm fucked up in the head, I'm fucked up-up here! Something is wrong with me, ple-please go away! I cried out in anger and pain.
