About this ebook
He was one of the well-known representatives of the Venetian family of artists Tiepolo, and his name is placed equally by critics and art historians with those of Francesco Guardi, Pittoni, Canaletto and Piazzetta, the great representatives of the Italian art of that era.
Unlike his predecessors, Venetian masters, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo did not use such bright and warm colors; he made his own style, much more epic and betting on the composition than the effect of a fairy-tale of bright colors.
His first famous Venetian masterpiece is a series of 10 paintings of a very large size scale designed to decorate the reception hall of Dolfin on the Grand Canal of Venice. These ten great paintings feature a storyline from the ancient history of Rome depicting epic battles and scenes from the life of ancient Romans, and clearly outlined the further development of the artist's style of epic and monumentalize.
