We are so quick in believing people’s opinion about us and less believing in what God’s word says about us. I firmly consider God’s word as the final answer to everything. I personally regard Mr. Emmanuel Frimpong Sakyi as one of the fundamental Teachers of God’s Word, rightly dividing the Word of truth. He is very much gifted and he is making great use of what the Almighty God has bestowed upon his life. This book is worth reading; for it challenges doctrines and mindsets and establishes another side of understanding.

A Word from the Author

This book is a description of the revelations Jesus gave me as I observed vital areas of the Christian journey where many believers seemed to lack a clear understanding about in their walk with God. Alongside, I came across many Christians whose lifestyle I took noticed of, and realised they had zeal for God, but it wasn’t according to Knowledge and Understanding. Therefore, I saw how Christians were missing out on God and the proper way in walking with Him. This saddened me and again inspired me. I sensed the Holy Spirit placing a burden upon my heart concerning the matter to write a book about the inspired areas of the Christian journey where enlightenment of understanding is needed by both the Christian and the non-Christian. By inspiration of the Spirit, I proceeded to put together all the revelations the Lord gave me into this book.

Many Christians out there have love for God’s Word, but lack proper Understanding of it. I observed again how many Christians would receive the knowledge of God’s Word, but yet, would wrongly apply it in their lives and end up being unproductive. It is not that, they don’t know the Word. Clearly, they do but the wisdom and understanding in applying what they know about God’s Word is the problem. They seem to be short of proper revelations and clear understanding of the Word.

This moved me to inquire from the Lord why many Christians miss it in their lives. The Lord began to speak to me about many Christian concepts which needed clarity and understanding. I would sleep in the night and in a dream, I would find myself been taught by God in the dream. I would then be instructed by the Divine Teacher in my dream to write all the revelations down. I would wake up and these writings would be lingering in my mind. I would then get my book and pen, and in reality recall and write all these revelations the Lord gave me in my sleep.

I started to study deeper the Word of God for several hours to catch the revelations I had received in my dreams. This went on for some time, and then it stopped. I wasn’t receiving the divine visitation again. That is when I realised, God was done with the concepts He needed me to talk about to His people.

Read this book with a purpose. This book is for the believer who is seeking to understand many things in his or her Christian life. It is a textbook for living. Keep it at hand. Once you have read through it, refer to it as often as you need to, and read any part at random to refresh your spirit with.

My prayer is that you will come to discover the truth and reality of God’s Word in your life. May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened in the name of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. Amen!

Chapter 1

The Anointing

Fullness of the Holy Spirit

THE FULLNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

There are many things that happen to the child of God by the Holy Spirit during salvation. The major works of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer include Indwelling (John 7:38-39; John 14:17), Sealing/Guarantee (Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30), Spiritual Baptism (John 1:32-34; 1 Corinthians 12:13), Gifting (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11), Filling/Anointing (Acts 4:31; Ephesians 5:18), Teaching (John 14:26; 1 John 2:27), Leading (John 16:13; Romans 8:14), Sonship/Membership (Romans 8:16; Galatians 4:6; 1 John 5:6-10), Praying (Romans 8:26; Ephesians 6:18), Sanctifying (1 Corinthians 6:11).

The term Fullness of the Spirit is used to describe the measure of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian. By the word fullness, we notice here a sense of measurement; denoting completeness. This therefore means, the Holy Spirit must be received in full and generally, He is received in full during salvation. The question is how many Christians are able to operate in the fullness of the Holy Spirit? Does having Him in you automatically fills you? If there is fullness of the Spirit (completeness), does it also mean that, there is half-filling (Incompleteness) of the Spirit? All these questions beg to expose why many Christians are currently failing to see the mighty power of God in their lives and the genuine demonstration of His signs and wonders in their generation today?

Many Christians profess to have the Holy Spirit in their heart alright, but fail to see His power operating in their lives. The power of sin seems to still rule over the carnal believer; sicknesses still reign over the child of God; and Satan and demons still enslave and oppress the Christian anyhow. Understand that the Holy Spirit is given to us by God in full, but majority of Christians fail to utilise His fullness. Consequently, we become spiritually handicapped; which shouldn’t be so.

Where are the miraculous results of our authority as believers? Satan and the world mock us because we are not producing results as we should. We are not living out the realities of the truth we know. The demonstration of the genuine power of God in the Church today isn’t seen much; neither is it enough to confirm the Word of God we preach to the world. What then are we missing? The Word of God never said that signs and wonders would follow only Pastors, Prophets, Apostles, Teachers and Evangelists, but rather any believer who believes (Mark 16:17-18).

Many a time, most believers think they need to consult their Pastors, Apostles and Prophets before they can confront their situations. I am not saying that it is a bad idea to consult them; but I’m rather encouraging you to take authority as a believer and learn to walk in your own anointing and not depend on another’s anointing. The anointing of the Father is for us all. You must seek it and desire it. It is your portion in Christ. Even, the application of the name of Jesus depends on the anointing to produce effective results and overcome challenging situations. Therefore, how do you use the name of Jesus to produce effective results if you lack the anointing?

In this chapter, I will enlighten the eyes of your understanding about the fullness of the Holy Spirit in view of the Anointing. The fullness of the Holy Spirit implies two major concepts and work of the Holy Spirit. They are the Indwelling and the Filling of the Holy Spirit. Every other work of the Holy Spirit besides the filling falls under the influence of the Indwelling. This is why I have categorised the two main concepts of the fullness of the Holy Spirit as the Indwelling and the Filling (Anointing).

The Indwelling (Sealing, Baptism, Gifting, Teaching, Leading, Sonship, Praying and sanctification) is the work of the Spirit and nothing we could do for ourselves. All of these are free gifts given to the child of God by the Holy Spirit without any work done by the believer. They are just given freely by grace under the Spirit’s discretion to the believer. But the Filling (Anointing) comes by the responsibility of the Christian. It requires that something be done by the believer. It comes with requirements, demands and work done by the believer. There is a price to pay for the filling (Anointing).

Indwelling is freely given by the saving faith-response of the believer in the name of Jesus. All that is required is your saving faith and belief in the name Jesus and His Word (Good news). Thus, by your saving faith in the name Jesus and by your response to the Gospel message of salvation, Jesus freely gives you the Holy Spirit as a Gift to abide in you forever. On the other hand, Infilling or the Anointing requires the responsibility of the believer to remain obedient to the complete Will of God and to walk daily in the light.

We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit because it is something we can do or choose not to do even though it is a must for every child of God to be filled with the Holy Spirit. But, we are never commanded to be indwelt, be baptized, Gifted, or be sanctified by ourselves. These are the work of the Holy Spirit and nothing we could do for ourselves. Indwelling therefore is by grace and filling (Anointing) is by responsibility.

Let us analyse few examples of men in the bible who were full of the Holy Spirit; and why they were able to do many great things for God. What was their secret? Were they not the same Christians as we are today? Was it not the same Holy Spirit that used them mightily to bear many fruits for the kingdom which now dwells in us? Therefore, what made these men of God excelled in the power of God?

Firstly, we have our own Lord and Saviour Jesus of whom the bible clearly testified Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness (Luke 4:1). Secondly, our brother Stephen was also testified of by the scriptures saying But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the Glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God (Acts 7:55). Thirdly, our disciple Peter of whom the bible also testified saying Then Peter, full of the Holy Spirit, said to them... (Acts 4:8). Fourthly, the early Christians They were all full of the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God boldly (Acts 4:31). Fifthly, our Apostle Paul of whom the scriptures clearly testified saying Then Saul, who was also called Paul, full of the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said... (Acts 13:9) and many others.

When you closely observe these men, you will realise they all had something in common. They were all full of the Holy Spirit; that is the answer to why they did exploits for God as believers and why God used them greatly. This also answers the question as to why we are not doing the same for God today, and the reason we are missing it. Understand that, we are commanded to be full of the Holy Spirit. It is a must for every child of God. Missing the fullness of the Holy Spirit signifies that you are not fully living your potential as a child of God and a believer. You are some way incomplete. God is looking for true children who are fully sons and daughters biologically (filled with the Holy Spirit) and not some step-sons and step-daughters. Therefore, He needs children full of Him who have His complete DNA.

Many Christians are really half-full of the Holy Spirit out there. Many are not living out their full potentials as Christians. Christians are settling for less out there. Many Christians however, are failing to take seriously their responsibility in the filling of the Holy Spirit. If we desire to be used by God greatly and mightily to change lives and impact the world we live in, then we must seek to be full of His Holy Spirit. If believers would want to see the power of God actively and effectively working in their lives, then they must seek to be full of the Holy Spirit. For the fullness of the Holy Spirit brings the anointing. You must be full of the Holy Spirit, not half-full.

Now let us attend to what the fullness of the Holy Spirit is all about and its relation to the anointing as well. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is both the indwelling and the Filling of the Holy Spirit co-joined together in the life of the Christian.

These are the requirements needed to be full of the Holy Spirit. Thus, when we say one is full of the Holy Spirit, we are saying the person has the Holy Spirit living inside of him as the indwelling by faith; and at the same time, filled with the Holy Spirit or has the anointing of the Spirit upon him as the filling. In other words, a believer full of the Holy Spirit is one who has the Holy Spirit inside-out. The indwelling is on the inside of the person’s spirit (Inner work) whilst the anointing or the filling is upon the person outwardly (Outer work). Having just one of the requirements makes you half-full and therefore,
