    Introduction

Being born and raised in the church, I not only study the bible, but find the stories fascinating. The stories that involved angels have always intrigued me. Not only is God with us all the time, but He sends his angels to deliver messages. Angels are God's holy messengers sent to guard his people against Satan and his demonic spirits sent to persecute them.

This is the debut short story collection of GodSend: Out of Darkness, Into the Light. These fictional stories are not only for Christians, but I hope people from all walks of life will be uplifted, inspired and entertained by this series. This series will evolve around God's messengers and fallen angels. Themes of faith, fear, temptation and persecution will be explored along with the various ways God speaks to his people; through His Word, through our thoughts, through conversations with others and circumstances.

I thank God for allowing me to complete this project. It's my humble prayer that God gets the glory out of everything I do. I want to thank my brother and mother, gifted writers for their contributions. So I present to some and introduce to others GodSend: Out of Darkness, Into the Light.

    Rose

    Written by David M. Wallace

I will never forget the day I woke up in a hospital bed. There was a tall, peculiar looking man dressed in white standing over me.

Do you want to tell me what happened? he asked.

I was still a little dazed and confused, but my memory started to come back. I had just lost my husband Charlie, he died from cancer. My two good friends, Carol and Tracy had lost their husbands before me. Our days were filled with loneliness and self-pity. To deal with the depression, we started cutting ourselves with razor blades and burning our skin with cigarette lighters. Strange as this may seem, it was relaxing. We turned to physical pain as a way to deal with the emotional pain. It became addictive, it was such a high. Sometimes I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience, watching myself do it. I couldn't escape the bottomless pit of depression I was in. I remember we got drunk, lit candles and took some Xanax pills that Carol provided.

Are you my doctor? What is your name? I asked the man.

My name is not important, but my assignment is, he said. Rose, this is not the answer, not only are you going down a road of eternal damnation, but you are leading your friends down the same path.

        Are Carol and Tracy alright?

Carol and Tracy are going to survive this. They are a couple of doors down, said the man. Rose, be strong, your friends need you more than ever.

Carol and Tracy shared an intense contempt for church. I actually met them when I
