About this ebook
Gambling Addiction – A Cold Dark Word is my personal journey into the very dark world of gambling addiction. In this book I described my life before gambling and how I started out as a young, happy adult up to the point when gambling took over my world. I included details about my life before gambling as I took some of these habits and personality traits into my gambling persona. There are many factors related to gambling addiction and I have tried to reflect on them all. Gambling could be fun but it is not so for the compulsive addict - it is life and soul-destroying. There are reasons why certain people lose control and become compulsive and I explored mine in detail. As my addiction was specifically related to slot machines, I took a closer look at casinos and how you can get lost inside them. I also reflected on how casinos make it easy to get addicted and how they neglect their duties to problem gamblers subsequently. I wanted to reflect a thorough and true picture of this terrible life-destroying affliction and provided extensive detail on suicide.
In telling my story I would like to give hope to those who want to recover and take their lives back from the grips of this gambling. It is possible to recover and have a better life. I provided detailed information on rehabilitation and what sources are available to the gambling addict.
This is a story about a serious disease by the name of Gambling Addiction but it is also a journey back into the light and how to make that possible.
I wanted to give hope to those who are lost in gambling and gave them a positive message about an ending of recovering with new strength and determination instead of a life lost through gambling.

I am a writer and I love writing. I never thought that I would write the story of my own destruction.I developed a serious gambling addiction. It took me a decade before I was able to get up from the slots. I believe that it required a divine intervention, as I had no desire or will to stop. I managed to put all the destruction and misery behind me and I am here to tell my story. My first book, Gambling Addiction – A Cold Dark World - tells my story from the beginning to the end, including details of my recovery.I have written a follow up book, Ending Gambling Addiction, with a more in-depth exploration of gambling addiction as well as an analysis of my own downfall. I again explore all avenues towards recovery,Both my books provide a message of hope – that there is light at the end of the cold dark world of gambling addiction. We all chose the route we are continuing on. If the choice is between freedom and the slavery of the shackles of gambling bondage, is freedom not the most life-changing choice?I invite you to walk the journey with me and hopefully you will find the light at the end of the darkness, and embrace it.
