About this ebook

This book is a compilation of biblical scripture to aid all Christians in their walk with God. The book will teach the readers about commitment to themselves as well as about showing love and compassion towards their families and other people. The concern for world issues and the confronting trials of everyday life, no matter how big or small, touches all Christians; therefore their faith in God should compel them into action. Although the book allows the reader to petition to God for salvation and breakthrough in their lives, it also showcases the role of the church in the daily lives of their congregations. Allow the banners, highlighted in this book, to teach you to trust in God and to expect Gods divine intervention during the trials and tribulations in your lives, your family, your church, your city, your country, or anywhere in the world. Consider the hardships of hunger, rape, and abuse of women and children. Your prayers and blessings will surely help.

You may use these banners during worship at home, during the meeting of your cell/small group or during the service at church. God bless you.

Yours truly,

V. C. DE VILLIERS

Matthew 17: 24–27 24. When they had come to Capernaum, those who receive the temple tax came to Peter and said, ‘Does your Teacher not pay temple tax?’ 25. He said ‘Yes.’ And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, ‘What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth takes customs and taxes, from their sons or from strangers?’ 26. Peter said to Him, ‘From strangers.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Then the sons are free. 27. Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.’ Consider this: By opening the Bible (Word of God), we will be enabled to pay whatever debt or payment that is required of us. And parallel to this, use this book to overcome all obstacles, trials, and tribulations you may encounter in your daily walk with God. Pray and trust the Lord to supply all your needs in Christ Jesus

    Ephesians 1:3-10

    Redemption in Christ

    1. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

    2. Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

    3. Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

    4. to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

    5. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace.

    6. Which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

    7. Having made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure which purposed in Himself,

    8. that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.

    Introduction

When a word from the Lord came to me in the form of a vision of the ancient armies approaching, or about to attack a city, the first sign of them would be their banners. The vastness of their banners would signify their might and instill fear in the city which is about to be attacked. Now imagine you are under attack from a big army, and your call for help is being answered. You take in the vastness of the force coming to help you by the enormous flags and banners they carry. May the Lord always answer your cry for help.

After discussing this with the church’s cell members (small group), I went home and perused the Bible for scriptural evidence and found that the following scriptures were highlighted:

    Psalms 20:1-5

    1. May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; 2. May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion; 3. May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. 4. May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose. 5. We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our Banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

    Isaiah 62:10

‘Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones. Lift up a Banner for the peoples!’

    Exodus 17:15

And Moses built an altar and called its name, ‘The Lord is My Banner!’

    Isaiah 11:10

‘And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a Banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place shall be glorious.’

    Isaiah 11:12

He will set up a Banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

    Mission

This is a book of biblical scriptures to showcase to all churches that their prayers and petitions, brought before God, will be honored and where all trials and tribulations cannot destroy our faith, rob us of our salvation, or steal our joy.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

    John 16:33

    Vision

To see that all believers and saints of our Lord Jesus Christ have a victorious Christian walk, believing in the one and only true God.

    Aim

    1. To teach you as a Christian to have complete trust and faith in God.

    2. To teach and allow you as a Christian to have a victorious walk with God.

    3. To encourage you to put up spiritual fights when faced with trials and tribulations, such as

    a. the salvation of your spouse, family, friends, and colleagues,

    b. praying for God’s healing, provision, deliverance, and restoration,

    c. trusting God for providing righteous and God-fearing leaders,

    d. teaching you that the wisdom you need most is the wisdom of God, which will qualify you for receiving the reward of eternity in heaven.

    e. teaching you to trust God for the restoration of relationships in your family, church, community, city, and country, and

    f. teaching you to put up a spiritual fight for purity of yourself, your spouse, your entire family, and members of your church community.

To experience the fullness of the Lord.

    Chapter 1

    BANNERS OF GOD

    God’s Banner of Salvation

    Assurance of Zion’s Salvation

    Isaiah 62:10-12

    10. Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up,

Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a BANNER for the peoples!

    11. Indeed the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the world: ‘Say to the daughter of Zion, Surely Your SALVATION is coming; Behold His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.

    12. And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; And you shall be sought out, A City Not Forsaken.

    2 Chronicles 7:14-16

    14. If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayers made in this place. 16. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.

    Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

    Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

    Ephesians 2:4-9

    4. But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5. Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6. And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7. That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9. Not of works, lest anyone should boast.

    Isaiah 44:1-5

    1. ‘Yet hear Me now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen. 2. Thus says the Lord who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you: Fear not, O Jacob, My servant, and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. 3. For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pout My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring; 4. They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses. 5. One will say, I am the Lord’s, another will call himself by the name of Jacob; another will write with his hand, The Lord’s, and named himself by the name of Israel.’

    1 John 1:9-10

    9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

    2 Corinthians 7:8b-10

8b. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while. 9. Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a Godly manner, that you may suffer loss from us in nothing. 10. For Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

    Colossians 1:19-23

    Reconciled in Christ

    19. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20. And by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him; whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled, 22. In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and blameless and above reproach in His sight—23. if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I Paul became a minister.

    Psalm 32:1-5

    The Joy of Forgiveness

    1. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2. Blessed is the man to whom God does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3. When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all day long.

    4. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. 5. I acknowledge my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, ‘I will confess my transgression to the Lord.’ And you forgave the iniquity of my sins.

    Philippians 2:12-16

    12. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own SALVATION with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure.

    14. Do all this without complaining and disputing, 15. that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among
