About this ebook
This is a part of a collection of poems, stories, and short plays, written over many years to mark a particular occasion. Some were produced for use in church or church magazines, school events, and especially for birthdays, anniversaries, personal moments, and family happenings.
As many a poet has discovered, once you embark on writing poems for the wifes birthday, wedding anniversaries, and so forth, it becomes an expected contribution, and there is no way
out of itbut it is still good fun, and I would suggest readers should try it for themselves.
I hope the reader will find some items for encouragement in their Christian walk with God, together with others to bring a smile on their face.

A Call to Mission
At times you may think the world is mad,
Going up the spout or down the pan,
That No One Heeds or Seems to Care
For the lonely, the poor, or the also-ran.
So here’s to those with compassion,
The thoughtful who answer the need
To take care of the widows and orphans;
God will surely have witnessed the deed.
