About this ebook

It was one hundred years until another quartz crystal arose to another Auzerian, Rayna, making her a Guardian and leader and protector of her people. Struggling with her own powers and expectations of what it means to be a Guardian, Rayna disobeys the rule to never leave the Wall of Auzeria, and explores the unpredictable world beyond the crystal forest, the only home she has ever known.

But soon Rayna faces what her ancestors were trying to protect the Auzerians from all these years and is hunted for her crystal by men who seek to steal its power. With the help of a stranger, Rayna is left to use what the Guardians taught her and to trust her own intuition to find her way home.

    About the Author

    Author’s Note

A fter graduating from San Jose State University with a business administration degree and a concentration in marketing, I wanted to continue to pursue my passion for writing. I was set to create a character inspired by some of my own fears, insecurities, strengths, and experiences in a fantasy novella.

Years went by before I came up with a solid idea for my book when I started working with crystals for my own personal healing. I had no professional training with working with crystals other than reading information from books and the Internet. But my intentions were sincere in connecting with their healing energy, and the story began to unfold. With my love for trees, soon I was inspired to create the crystal forest and the Auzerians, and the Guardian of Auzeria came to be. Later, delving into more metaphysical studies, I learned of similar and inspiring civilizations I’ve felt connected to, such as Atlantis and Lemuria; some have said I may have had other lifetimes there before.

How ever I came about writing this book, I hope it inspires you, the reader, to embrace your inner power and accept who you are. Often we are in search of answers to who we are, who we should be, or what our life’s purpose is. You might think if you accomplish a goal or become successful, then maybe one day you will be good enough. But the thing is, being who you are now, the true you, hidden behind all the illusions of doubts and insecurities, you are already a gift to the world. All you have to do is open your heart and shine the light that has always been within you. And no matter what outer circumstances you may face, know that you have the inner strength to make your own choices to create the life you want.

    Prologue

R ayna, you are more powerful than you can imagine, the Guardians said to me. But they expected too much of this seventeen-year-old girl. I barely knew how to take care of myself. I was not ready to be a leader and protector of a whole civilization. And I did not know if I ever would be. I should have never run away, but it was all too much. I needed a moment, a place where no one knew who I was or even knew I existed.

The year was 2039, and for thousands of years, my people, the Auzerians, stayed hidden, forgotten on this continent far from human civilization, a lesson learned from a time when we once walked among humans in harmony as brothers and sisters. For we were all children of the earth, made of the same flesh and bone. And aside from the crystals that the Auzerians adorned themselves
