About this ebook

When you are experiencing change in your life, it can be overwhelming and almost unbearable at times. You often wonder and sometimes ask God how long. Whether you are transitioning into salvation, a babe in Christ, or a seasoned saint, you can learn to wait with expectancy while being encouraged by the anticipation of your next glory. It can affect every emotion and aspect of your life, but it does not have to be devastating. Often God will visit you right in the transition and reveal His dynamic glory just to let you know He is with you and that you will make it! Just like the birth of a child, the metamorphosis of a worm to a beautiful butterfly, and the beautiful rainbow after the storm, God will see you through to your next glory.

    Dedication

I dedicate this book to the Author and Finisher of my faith who gave me inspiration to write. No one knows what treasure is deep within unless they search it out. The Word of God speaks of writing upon the tables of our heart; a well of life springing up and fire shut up in our bones. All these are spiritual reference of God in us, the hope of glory. God made it easy for me to tell of His goodness. It is what he requires of us. Every trial and every test was an opportunity for me to gain more wisdom to share. God is alive in me therefore I have opened my heart to pour from the brook of his glory!

    Introduction

God has a unique way of moving us from glory to glory. Quite often these shifts are water walking journeys that require a mustard seed faith. Often we view it from the natural or carnal stance and we become fearful, discouraged and doubtful. Throughout the chapters of this book we will examine different areas of life where we have transitions or shifts. We will parallel those changes with accounts out of the bible. God sometimes does things in seemingly strange ways to move us into positions of blessings. We might not understand all that is going on at the time but we need to know that God says, Just trust me.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8, 9

    Chapter 1

    Glory to Glory: The Shift

    Trusting God in the Shift

There are times in our Christian walk where we may feel as if we are under the attack of the enemy. That may be true but God has a greater plan and purpose in motion. In the book of Job Satan answered the Lord’s question, Satan, from where comest thou? by responding, From going to and fro in the earth, and walking up and down in it. Job 1:7. God asked another question, Hast thou considered my servant, Job…? Satan answered the Lord, Doth Job fear God for nothing? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face." Job 1:9-11. Satan thought that he could tear Job down. He thought that all he had to do was touch and destroy everything Job had and Job would give up, throw in the towel, curse God and die. When Satan approached God with his intentions God saw pass Satan’s motives and saw how He would use him to glorify His name, bless Job in his spiritual walk and reward him with even greater prosperity than he had before moving him to his next glory.

I believe that God highlighted Job’s experience in the bible for two reasons, first to make us as believers aware of the extent that Satan will go to try and destroy us. Most of us have never experienced the devastating blows such as those Job endured. It is our responsibility as Christians to equip ourselves for attack so that when Satan strikes we won’t fall under the pressure and we won’t be ignorant of his devices. If we will remain faithful as Job did through adversity God will reward us as we move to our next glory and we come out victorious! Secondly to keep in mind that Satan had to ask God’s permission to touch Job. The only way that Job was even approachable to Satan was through God’s permission! We as Christians should be excited about the fact that Satan can not touch any aspect of our lives our bodies our possessions or our children unless he is granted permission from God first. If granted permission be assured in knowing God has a far greater plan in motion that will ultimately led to our next glory!

Another highlighted experience in the bible that should be closely looked at is the life story of Joseph, Jacob’s son. If we look at the beginning of his life story in the natural and stop there, we would probably say, poor little Joseph, all he had to do was keep his mouth shut and act like his other brothers. But you see, Joseph was not like his other brothers, he had a unique gift and the anointing of God on his life. He was different which made him a target. Genesis chapters 37 thru 41shows Joseph was hated and rejected by his brothers; Cast into a pit; Drawn out of the pit and sold into Egypt; Tempted and lied on by Potiphar’s wife; Thrown into prison; Remembered for a gift; Drawn out of prison; Placed in charge over Pharaoh’s house; Becomes ruler over the people of Egypt and saves the land. He literally went from pit to palace, pit to palace and the whole time God was moving him into positions of blessings. To be exact, he went from glory to glory. In the natural things did not look to promising for him but God’s hands were on him the whole time! Our situations and circumstances are not always as they seem. God’s plan for us involves others being blessed by how He is moving in our life. God has a bigger plan that He is unfolding; Let me forewarn you, the changes that your shifting will bring is not for the faint of heart. Sometimes it requires a mustard seed faith for a water walking journey.

On August 14, 2006 I started a new job and new career, as an Administrative Assistant. I had been a Customer Service Representative eight years for a local bank when the opportunity presented itself to me for a career change. I received a call from the president of a manufacturing company in town. I was made aware of a position that would soon be available and asked if I would be interested in applying. I had been praying and seeking God’s face for a job change and felt that this was the perfect opportunity for me to step out on faith. After a few weeks of meeting and interviewing I was hired into the position. On December 8, 2006, after 117 days of employment with this company, I was terminated. I was told that my work performance in a particular software program was not up to the expectations of the job in which I was hired for. I saw this as my new beginning.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

When I lost my job on December 8, 2006 I could have handled it one of two ways: I could have went into a deep depression; I could have started the should of, could of, would of game with a lot of regrets; I could have panicked and caused myself a lot of stress and worrying about my bill but I choose to trust God no matter what!

I could say a lot of negative things about my former employers and how I was treated when I was there but I choose to look at the day I was terminated as my day of new beginnings, again. It was a move to another glory, a necessary transition. We cannot become so dependant and accustomed to our lifestyles and way of living as we know
