Grace of God in Amazing Events: A Collection of Short Stories
()
About this ebook
Snyder has assembled these stories about events that portray the grace of God. These events happened with and by people that he knew personally. Later in his life, as an ordained deacon, Snyder has had the opportunity to lead others into salvation. In the closing chapter, he shares with us the script of a play that he wrote. It has been performed to positive acclaim in several churches.

Foreword
You can live forever—by way of a model.
The model is Christ Jesus, son of the living God.
He came that you might have life, and have it more abundantly.
He came to seek and to save the lost.
He is the way, the truth and the life.
No one comes unto the father but by him.
Jesus also said:
You must be born again to see the kingdom of heaven.
He said: I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Read on and see for yourself, these short stories of
amazing events by the grace of God, working through people.
Then you may ask, what is salvation and how may it help me?
Rev. Ray Grossman
Ray was an assistant pastor at The Anona Methodist Church in Largo Florida. At the encouragement of my wife Judy, I kept an appointment with Ray, to discuss my drinking problem. I expected an intellectual discussion on how to quit my drinking. I was an alcoholic, wanting alcohol for breakfast. On a hot day, May 26, 1976 at 2:00 pm, I was in Ray’s office in the new church building.
I thought it odd for Ray to take me over to the very old chapel on the premises. No air conditioning there, however, I felt at home in this oldest chapel in the county. We sat alone in the front pew where Ray asked me questions to understand me better. There amongst beautiful stained glass windows was a perfect likeness of Christ in the large window on the wall behind the altar. Ray took my hand and led me to the communion rail where we both knelt down. Ray asked me if I loved Jesus and I said yes I do. Tell him now, three times, which I did in tears. Ray prayed an intercessory prayer for God to help me stop drinking and smoking. He went on to pray, that through Christ Jesus and his death on the cross, that I accept that as payment for my sin. Then, by the power of his resurrection, I would go to heaven after I die. By his holy spirit he has guided my life unto good works and helped me to use my spiritual gifts to tell others of my salvation.
At this point I was shaking, perspiring and crying like I was having the DT’s (delirium trembling from alcohol withdrawal), which I never had before. I left there feeling strange and when Judy saw me, she said I looked like I was hit by a truck. I asked her to fix me a drink because I felt very strange. I thought that I needed one and she gave it to me. One mouthful and I threw it all up. Wow, I really was upset! At bedtime I tried my night cap and when I smelled it, I became nauseous again.
From that day until now, I have not had an alcoholic drink nor have I wanted one—praise God.
A year ago, I called Ray’s wife Mildred to thank him for leading me in prayer many years ago. Ray was in his nineties and living in a nursing home in Deland, Florida. He was very pleased to know of my new life and the holy spirit as my guide.
I was not immediately aware that Ray passed on to his heavenly reward on May 17, 2012. I had not been in close communication with him and his wife for over a year. On the day that he died, my thoughts turned to our experience together several times. These thoughts prompted me to call Mildred to ask about Ray and for permission to write this chapter in this new book.
I was stunned when Mildred told me that Ray had just died. Not because he died, but that I was thinking of him that very day. This assured me that we were God connected by the holy spirit. I prayed for Mildred and their family while on the phone with her.

On that day 36 years ago, Ray Grossman led me unto Salvation, my life was then changed to be a non-alcoholic and to become a free person. Free from the grip of sin and the gnawing fear of drinking and other life issues. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free
as our savior Christ Jesus has said.
Most of my life before salvation was filled with thoughts of defeat and low self esteem. One key
