About this ebook

In the beginning God create Heaven and Earth. God created man, and placed him in the Garden of Eden. It is here man commits his first sin, as Adam and Eve disobey God, by eating from the tree of knowledge. Therefore, God removed them from the Garden. Man commits another sin through Cain, when he killed his brother Able. The years pass and man had become so corrupt, that God destroyed all his creation, with a great flood.

Through Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Isaac God shows his love for man. Again, by returning to the life of sin, man has rebelled Gods love and mercy.

As the years pass, the Eastern world has fallen under the ruling of the Roman Empire. The safety of the Roman Army became a comfort to the Jews. Yet, this safety came with a high price, there came slavery, injustice and immorality.

Between the laws of the Roman Empire and the laws of the Church, the Jewish people were confused. When one would show denial to the laws of the Roman Empire the punishment was death. With the Church it was the same. As one would show denial to the laws of the Church the punishment was death. This made it rough on the Jewish people, for what was right with one law, was wrong in the other.

From generation to generation the word had been passed down that a Messiah was coming to rule over them forever, and ever.

In this book we will read how God brought two people together to fore fill his promise to the Prophets, to send a Messiah to change the hearts of man, and for man to be forgiven of his sins, forever.

Remember this as you go through life. With God nothing shall be impossible!

    Joseph

In the far Eastern part of the Roman Empire lies a small village many miles North of Bethlehem, called Nazareth. In this village lives the house of David. In this house of David, lives Jacob, his wife, and their son Joseph.

Joseph is an honest and hard worker, in his trade as a carpenter. He is so well known for his trade, that people come from all over an’ ask him to build barns, or just add a room to their homes.

When Joseph woke up this morning, he had no way of knowing that this day was going to change his life forever. For today God was starting his plan for the coming of the Messiah.

Joseph got up, put on his work clothes and went into the kitchen to have breakfast with his mother and father. As they were eating breakfast his father asked, where are you, working today.

I’m working on a barn, east of town, replied Joseph. I’ll be working there for a couple of months. I have the foundation laid, and while it is drying I’ll be working on the frames for the walls.

Then his mother spoke up and said, Speaking of work, don’t you think it’s time for you to get going?

Yes Ma-am you’re right. He got up from the table, went to the barn, picked up his tools, and was on his way. As he walked by the house he said, I’ll be home in time for supper."

Joseph was walking down the road when he noticed, that the sun was shining brighter today than usual, everything seemed to have a different glow about it. And it was as if it was the first time he had seen the flowers growing along the road. And the grass across the fields looked greener.

As he walked by this one field, there she stood, a young maiden working her sheep. Her hair shined in the sunlight. It was as black as the night, and it hung past her waist. She had a slender face, and her eyes were as blue as the sky.

Joseph had seen her there many mornings, for some reason this was the first time he paid any attention to her, and how beautiful she was. He stood there for a few minutes watching her every movement, and then he continued on his way.

When Joseph got to the farm where he was working, he asked the farmer a question that kind of confused the old man, Have you ever seen something a hundred times, and paid no attention to it. Then one day, it is like you are seeing it for the first time?

The farmer looked at Joseph and said,Son, what are you talking about?

Joseph explained about the flowers on the side of the road, and the grass across the fields on how different they looked today. Then he talked about the young maiden in the field with her sheep. I have seen her many mornings in the fields, yet today was the first time I actually paid any attention to her.

What field, what girl, are you referring to? the farmer asked.

The young maiden with the sheep in the field by the river, replied Joseph, with a confused look on his.

OH, that young maiden! She is the daughter of Joachim and Anna. Her name is Mary. I’m surprised that you did not know her. Her father is well known in the Church, and they have a stand at the market.

Yes Sir, I have seen them in Church, and at the market. I just never knew her name.

Well now you do. So let’s get to work.

The rest of the day all Joseph could think of was this young maiden. He had been daydreaming, and working so hard, he had forgotten how hot the sun was today.

The old farmer called for Joseph to come and work in the shade, and get
