    The young woman starting a vacation, is in the federal witness protection program and is assaulted by a hillbilly bully. Because the bully was the son of the sheriff, her situation quickly went downhill because she killed him in self defense. After recovering from her injuries, she is tried for murder, and the mob gets a hint of her location. Help comes from the most unlikely sources, like the white wolf that she thinks is stalking her.
    Her family rapidly expands when the brother of the girl she saved; enlist help from his friends and relatives. Knowing her life is in danger she flees to Canada; then Alaska. The mob assassins pour north to fulfill the contract on her. The proof that the contract is completed, is her head.

      Chapter 1 The Store

      The cool breeze blew through the car windows. She saw the intersection ahead and an old country store on the left. Turning onto the dirt she stopped in front of the steps up to the porch. Closing the door to her car she limped up the steps. Moving her cane to her right hand she leaned on it; as she open the door and entered the store. Hearing voices she turned to her right and saw the soda fountain. Ten steps later she eased up on a stool as the girl behind the counter argued with a big man.

      She slapped him and he took a step back.

      He looked at her and glanced around. Seeing a stranger on a stool, he growled, What you lookin at? Get out a here! Then he took a threatening step forward.

      Susan slipped off the stool, bracing herself against the front of the counter.

      Seeing her apparent fear; he stepped forward bringing his right arm back.

      Realizing she was about to get hit, Susan kicked upward with her right leg right between his. As he doubled over, she hooked his neck with her cane and pulled with all her might as she dropped to her knees.
