    Pastor Jose L. Rivera is President and Founder of Abundant Life Revival Ministry in Brownstown PA, which has includes two churches, the La Primera Iglesia Hispana de Brownstown, PA and Iglesia Cristiana Vida Abundante in Smoketown, PA both in Lancaster County. He completed his theological studies, at the College of Theological Education Ministerial in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, where he earned a PhD, in Pastoral Counseling. Ordained in the Ministry, as Reverend, presently a Dean at the University of CFTM Inc., director of the Bible Institute in the PA region for the Council of Christian Churches Freed by Jesus Christ from the Bronx, New York, who presides Apostle Vargas José Crespo. He married with Delsy Rivera in 2003, who is co-founder and currently a Minister ordered to a full ministry through the Council Reverend LPJ Inc. The Pastor Jose has fathered five children, Cristy, Aisha, Isaiah, Jessica and Liz Bett Rivera. In addition also a grandfather of two precious girls named Dalila and Mia. The pastor and his family presently reside and have their ministry in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

      From Ashes to the Glory

      A real testimony of perseverance in a Ministry Life

      Prologue

      When we become interested in reading a book it is probably the title which sparked our interest. In the real life testimony From Ashes to the Glory the purpose is to demonstrate that if there is difficulty in the walk of a Christian life, having perseverance will be an absolute blessing from God. Defining that walk proves the difficulties we confront in our daily lives, some of those consequences are as a result of our bad decisions but the difference is some of these are the ones that God permits so that there is a growth and development in our calling and destiny in our walk to a Christian life. It is easy to make a quick decision during good times and when it becomes difficult it is very easy to run and try to find a solution. From Ashes to the Glory demonstrates with proof that waiting for God is the best alternative in our spiritual walk. The testimony of this pastoral family will help you grow and depend more in our God, you will see the circumstances they faced and the results they obtained believing in perseverance. I hope you benefit from the real life experience of this family in your personal life and can get From the Ashes to the Glory.

      First and foremost I want to thank the one that is most important in my life, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is my motive, inspiration and purpose in my life. If God was not the center of my life, this book would not have been possible. I can only emphasize the walk in Christ now that it is the only way to a victorious life. Thank you Jesus Christ, I love you!

      I am also thankful for the person that God has put into my life, my wife Delsy; she is one of the most important persons in the real testimony of this book. Thank you my love for standing by me in the most difficult moments of my life and the toughest moments of my ministry. Thank you for your unconditional support, understanding, and for maintaining your faith in the midst of our struggles and despair. You are a true example of perseverance, courage and dynamism. Delsy, I love you.

      I am also thankful for my younger daughters Jessica and Liz, they have lived each one of these experiences and despite being young and immature they are an essential part of our ministry and the reason to continue to push until Christ comes. I love you!

      I can’t forget to mention my daughter Cristy along with my two beautiful granddaughters Lila and Mia. When at times I need to refocus and rest, my greatest moments are when I am with them and feeling the special love that only a grandchild can give. Thank you Cristy for always give me your love, support and for being there for me.

      I dedicate this book to my children Aisha and Isaiah (Papo), they are a gift from God and this is my best opportunity for public expression to let them know that I love them in a special way. Even though there is some distance between us, I want them to know they hold a very special place in my heart. I love you Aisha, I love you Papo.

      I dedicate this book not only to those that I have mentioned but also to my cousin, brother, Apostle and Pastor Jose Vargas for being my spiritual leader, a person whom I admire for his perseverance fighting the good battle and being faithful to the glory of God. Thank you for your unconditional support and for always giving me a helping hand.

      I dedicate this book to a colleague and pastor, who has been very close to our ministry and who has never forgotten about us, my friend Rev. Glenn Hoover. This is Glenn’s last year as a minister but knowing him there is still much he wants to achieve in his life. I wish you much success and hope you continue to be blessed in all that you do while retired. Thank you for your unconditional work and for leading by example.

      I dedicate this book to the person who inspired me to write it, the Apostle Mirna Roman, pastor of the Abundant Life Revival Church in Chicago, Illinois. The Apostle Mirna with her husband Apostle Jose Roman were my pastors during the decade of the 90’s and this was the ministry that God chose for my calling. I was a leader of Worship and Praise and there I learned through my Pastor what it is to truly love God. The Apostle Mirna visited us in October of 2011 and she got to hear first hand our testimony and that is when she motivated me to write From Ashes to the Glory. Pastor Mirna, thank you for your love, teachings and for being a role model. I stand here today thanking God for the good teachings that I have received from you since my beginning. Just like Saul was at the feet of Gamalier, I stood their receiving the spiritual plan from the hands of my pastor.

      Last but not any less important I dedicate my writings to the Congregation that has made me their Pastor, La Primera Iglesia Hispana de Brownstown (First Spanish Church of Brownstown) and La Iglesia Cristiana Vida Abundante (Abundant Life Christian Church), both under the Ministry that the Lord guided me to establish, the Abundant Life Revival Ministry. I want to thank each and every one of you for your faith in the good and difficult times. Thank you for making me the leader that I am.

      I thank God for giving me the opportunity to present the author of this impressive book From Ashes to the Glory, the Rev. Dr. Jose L. Rivera. It is an honor and a blessing to have met this man of genuine faith, who has known to get up when fallen under the weight of the trials and struggles that life has presented. He came to our church in the year 1994, a young man newly converted to Christ. He was hungry to learn the Word of God, and to be a servant in the house of the Lord. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this servant lifted him under my pastoral maternal care. From the beginning he showed immense desire to learn and apply what he learned, always having a humble heart and continuously having a smile on his face.
