About this ebook

Vanishing Light is a thought-provoking, controversial discussion on the Christian Church and the "World" of non-Christians. In these last days, the Christian Church and the World have become blurred to the point of being scarcely distinguishable. The separation of God's people from the people of the World is clearly taught in the Bible. Jesus said, They are not of the World, even as I am not of the World. John 17:16

Yet, Christians have a twofold mission: to edify one another in love and also to be a light in this World; to give evidence of their faith to benefit the World. Jesus said, Ye are the light of the World. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matt 5:14. The author looked into how this light is vanishing from todays world, and the consequences that this is creating. You won't want to miss this captivating, dynamic discussion.

    CONCLUSION

    Foreward

The author has compiled these various writings over approximately 25 years of time and has brought them together to look at a distinct and Scriptural doctrine of the Separation of God’s children from the World, as taught in the Holy Scriptures. He also discusses topics such as the New Covenant, the gifts of the Spirit, man became a living Soul, and the man Jesus Christ.

The writer is concerned that what we find in the World today that is called Christian, is not always Christian. Also, that we as Christians are not all speaking the same things, as we should. He is not of the ordained clergy, but the writer loves God’s Holy Scriptures and it is his desire to promote in others the Love of the Truth.

The author encourages any comments on his writings and makes an effort to involve the reader in searching the Scriptures to verify what is written in this book.

The translation used for reference herein shall be the King James Version, unless otherwise noted.

    INTRODUCTION

    THE SEPARATION OF THE

    CHRISTIAN CHURCH…

    FROM THE WORLD

Christians receive the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God, the Truth about God, about Man and their relationship from the Creation to the final consummation.

The separation of God’s people from the people of the World is clearly taught in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In these last days the demarcation between the Christian Church, i.e., the Body of Christ, and the world of non-Christians has become blurred to the point of being scarcely recognizable, and the World is busily making it more so.

This book is intended primarily to encourage Christians to hold fast the Truths taught in the Holy Scriptures and meditate upon them often.

The Word of Christ concerning this:

John 8:31-32, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; ³²and ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.

    CHAPTER I

    THE NEW COVENANT

This writing is a preface to the writing that follows concerning the event of Pentecost. On that day the New Covenant went into effect. It is important that every Christian should know it and keep it in mind and in heart always.

The Old Testament promise is found in Jeremiah 31:31-34, the fulfillment is found in the New Testament in Hebrews 8:7-13:

⁷For if that first Covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. ⁸For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹Not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my Covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. ¹⁰For this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: ¹¹And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. ¹²For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. ¹³In that he saith, A New Covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

And so it did, but the non-believing Jews deny it to this day. The Apostle Paul speaks of them in I Thess 2:15-16,

¹⁵Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

The persecution of the Jews by Hitler in World War II, I believe was God’s wrath and this persecution continues to be by the Muslims. The Jews are no longer God’s Israel and earthly Jerusalem is a divided city. The territory surrounding the city is no longer a Holy Land. Try as people will, it shall not be.

Heb 12:22-29, ²²But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, ²³To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, ²⁴And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. ²⁵See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: ²⁶Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. ²⁷And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. ²⁸Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: ²⁹For our God is a consuming fire.

The Apostle Paul in II Cor 6:14-18, plus II Cor 7:1, aids in comprehending the status of a Christian versus the non-believing world.

II Cor 6:14-18, plus II Cor 7:1: "¹⁴Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? ¹⁵And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? ¹⁶And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ¹⁷Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
