Dear Reader,
Thanks for choosing this book.
This book is the result of my childhood dream: to become a film maker.
I love to write on everything that happens around me.
This story is a combination of imaginations and few real experiences of mine and my friend’s life.
In this story, I have included few illustrative incidents which had happened with and around me or I have heard of them by my friends and acquaintances. There are a few regrettable things which we like as students, but they are not good for us. Also, there are a few things that our elders think are good for us, but they are not. I will share few of them at the end of the book because they need our focus in order to provide a better future to a student.
I have an ambition to earn name, fame and money from the day I have been aware that I also have to work for survival like my father does. Initially I had all the dreams without any base. I just thought that someone will come to me and pick me up to use my talent as it happens in the movies. Later on, I understood that I have to struggle to convert my dreams into reality and then I started finding ways for the attainment of my goal.
I started writing a book on my own life and struggles which I did after coming to Delhi but a few months later, one of my friends Arpit told me about his story. I found that interesting, so I first started writing that story and named it Forty-Five Days’ Love Story
. I have been writing this story since 2010 and finally, I could complete it now with the blessings of my Parents Mr. Ram Chandra Gupta and Mrs. Geeta Gupta.
Prologue
This story is about one of my friends Arpit who was also from my hometown Lucknow
. He was a very shy person. He had only one dream: to earn money and to be superrich. He had never thought of having any girlfriend in his life but when he met with Komal, who was the sister of his teacher, he could not control over his feelings and fell in love with her. He told me his story when I told him about my passion of writing. One day, I stepped out of my office with frustration of my call center job and he rang me:
Hey, where are you?
he asked.
I have just stepped out of office. Where are you?
I asked.
I am about to reach at metro station. Wait there for me!
He said and disconnected the call. I waited for him and once he reached there, he said,
Let’s party tonight.
Where is the party?
I asked.
We can party at my home. We only need some beer and music,
he said. Initially I was surprised with this concept of party but, later I got to know that party means dinking here in Delhi.
Yeah, let’s do that. I also need refreshment as I am fed up with my life. I am just working to earn as less as I need to encounter the hunger of my stomach.
I exasperated.
Everyone is doing the same but why are you so frustrated today.
He said.
You know, I don’t like this job. I am unable to deliver even fifty percent results of my responsibilities.
I said to him.
That’s okay. It happens. Getting your desired result depends on your luck as well.
He said.
I don’t think so. I think I am not focused towards my job. Actually, I don’t want to do this job anymore.
I said with frustration.
Then, what do you want to do?
he asked.
Something, that builds interest.
I said.
Okay then, do whatever you enjoy doing. Do what you like.
he asked.
I like writing and reading. I want to do something related to that.
I said.
Okay so, why didn’t you try in teaching field?
he said.
I thought but I failed in B.Sc. that’s why I had to drop the idea.
I said.
I am writing a book on my own life and I am hoping to get success in the same field.
I continued.
What is so special in your life that you are writing?
He said.
There are so many things which happened in my life and no one knows them except me. I never shared them with anyone.
I said.
Okay, that’s a good idea. Carry on. Let me know if you need any help from me.
He said.
Sure.
I said.
By the way, I also have a story. Can you write that as well?
He asked.
Why not, what’s your story?
I asked him.
Let’s buy the beer and I’ll tell you my story tonight.
He said and we bought the beer from the wine shop, meals from the restaurant and went to his home where he told his story to me. Let me tell you his story in his own words:
Story
This is the story of my first year in college. I was studying in a private College affiliated with Lucknow University. At this phase of my life, I was not at all happy with my life just because I wanted a royal life for myself. It was early 2008 when I was little occupied with my family business but I wanted my life to be like other students who had to do nothing except studying and enjoying their student life. I wanted to study but I didn’t want to have any responsibilities on myself. Also, I didn’t want to provide any kind of support to my father in his business however my father needed my support in his business because owner of a small business has a lot of work but less workforce and that’s why they need little support from their children like my father needed but the children like me always ruin their expectations due to their desire of temporary bliss. My hobbies were to watch movies and to roam around with my friends. I had never tried to achieve success with available resources and time but I wanted my parents to put extra efforts for my success instead of putting my own efforts. I always wait for the good time to work on my dreams but the truth of life is that good time never comes. You have to put your efforts in order to make your life successful and happy.
I was a person who wanted all success and happiness to be served without any efforts; I never made any efforts to fulfill my dreams. I always blamed my parents, circumstances and family for my failures and kept on wasting my time to get temporary enjoyment.
Once I was roaming around with my friends Vishesh and Sudipt, as we did regularly, we thought of having some Chinese food, so we parked our bicycles in the parking area of market and sat in a Chinese food stall. We ordered three plates of Chowmin. Chowmin was being prepared and we were talking about nonsense actions done by us in the college that day. We were discussing how we made fun of our mathematics teacher. We were discussing how we made a different kind of solution in chemistry lab which was not at all expected. While discussing all this we realized that if Pranjal would also have been there, this day would have been more happening as Pranjal was not attending College those days.
Pranjal also studied with us in college. Pranjal is a very happy person. He has to laugh on every statement said by anyone. He has to make fun of anyone, anytime. We thought of meeting him, so we made a plan to go his home as he lived in Rajajipuram and we were roaming in same localiy. It was about 5 ‘o’ clock in the evening when we headed towards his home. We reached at his home in fifteen minutes watching and commenting on girls all the way. We reached there; his elder sister was standing out there. She shouted from there as she saw us,
Pranjal! Come here! Arpit and Vishesh have come.
As he heard that, he came out laughing and satirized,
Come on in! Didn’t you bastards die yet?
Then he hugged us and took us in to the drawing room.
We had some chit chat and then tea and cookies were served by his sister. She came and sat with us and asked our well beings,
How are you Guys?
She said.
Good.
We replied together.
How is everyone at your home Arpit?
She asked me about my family because she often talked to my family members.
Everyone is good.
I replied and then she went into the kitchen and we started our nonsense discussion.
How many girls you slept with this week?
Pranjal asked Sudipt.
Sudipt is a playboy. Though his looks
