About this ebook

Part 1

The blood symbolism is traced from Genesis to The Cross.

After Eve became the first sinner, she then tempted her husband Adam to sin also. God killed animals and gave the couple the animal skins to cover their bodies. Symbolically the animals blood pointed to Jesus shedding his blood in His death to cover the sins of all mankind.

Chapters include research connecting that blood in childbirth, blood in the first Passover, blood in the menstrual cycle all are symbols pointing to the blood of Jesus shed on the cross.

Gods people are commanded not to eat blood. A survey was made of the countries that use animal blood in preparing food. Also, an investigation was made into the way animals are killed in the USA, and how their blood was drained from their carcasses, making meat comply with Gods law.

Bible women Rahab and Tamar are studied and their connection with the symbolism of the redeeming blood of Jesus. Christians take communion symbolically remembering Jesus shed His blood for our sins today.

    Symbolism Of First Animal Blood

    (10 minutes)

The LORD made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. And the LORD said, Now that man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat and live forever.

    Genesis 3:21-22

Eve was the first one to sin, but God held Adam accountable because Eve was made from his body. He was the head of his house and did not make any attempt to restrain Eve, but willingly ate of the forbidden fruit when she gave it to them.

God’s Shekinah glory, (God’s magnificent light) faded from their bodies. Adam and Eve saw their own nakedness and realized that God had left them. After God talked with them and told them the consequences for their sin; He killed animals, the first shedding of animal’s blood, and made them clothing with which to cover their naked bodies. Their covering (clothing) was symbolic. In the future Jesus’ blood would cover their sins.

    Scarlet Thread Connection

This is my judgment; therefore, we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write them; telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood

    Acts 15:19-20.

Today many cultures, including China and Scotland, use blood in their cooking. Write and tell how important it is for you to obey God rather than man, when invited to eat something that has blood as an ingredient, even though it is accepted as being ‘culturally correct?’

    The Miracle Of Jesus’ Conception

    (20 minutes)

In the sixth month (of John the Baptist’s mother’s pregnancy) God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you are highly favored! The LORD is with you.

Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.

How can this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin?

The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God."

I am the Lord’s servant, Mary answered. May it be as you have said." Then the angel left her.

    Luke 1:26-38

Jesus is a descendant of David through Mary, his mother. She was a descendant of David’s and Bathsheba’s son Nathan.

(I Chronicles 3:5). Jesus’ kingdom is a spiritual kingdom, HIS church. It cannot be abolished; even the gates of hell cannot destroy it.

Also, David is the ancestor of a physical kingdom through his son Solomon, another son of David by Bathsheba. As God promised that the kingdom Jesus built cannot ever pass away; David was promised that his royal lineage on earth would last forever. Jeremiah 33:19-26

History shows that the prophet Jeremiah took the daughters of Zedekiah, the last king of Judah from Egypt to Ireland after the temple was destroyed and the Jews were taken into Babylonian captivity in 586 B.C. One daughter Tea Tephi married the king of Ireland. Queen Elizabeth of England traces her genealogy to Solomon and David through this marriage.

Mary became the person God used to fulfill the promise to David of a spiritual kingdom. Jeremiah and Tea Tephi became the ones to fulfill the physical kingdom promise. From a Christian perspective Mary had the greater honor. When one studies women in the Bible and in secular history, there is no woman who has received the honor that Mary received when God chose her to be the mother of Jesus.

There is no command to worship Mary in the Bible. Mary can be honored as the mother of Jesus, but never worshipped as deity. She was a chaste, pure-hearted woman, but not deity. Jesus always honored His mother, but never worshipped her as God. He always did the will of His father, God.

There has never been another baby conceived as Jesus was conceived. He is the Son of God, the Savior of the world. Those who write, preach and teach that Mary was not a virgin; Joseph was really Jesus’ father either have not studied the Bible carefully or they lie for their own advantage.

In the Old Testament Isaiah 7:14 states, Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Emanuel. Emanuel means God with us. No other son in all of history has been conceived without the sexual union of a man and woman. Jesus is unique. His conception was caused because God loves lost humanity. Jesus was fully God and fully human.

Many believe Mary suffered because some knew that she was pregnant before she actually married Joseph. Everyone who knew her counted Jesus as Joseph’s son. She kept her secret and never told that God was the real father of Jesus until after He arose from the dead.

    Key Concept Personal Application

    (5 minutes)

It has been said that The birth of every baby changes the world.

Write your opinion whether this is a true statement or not.

    Notes

    Chapter 1

    Key Concepts Small Groups Discussion

    Break into small groups.

Each group will discuss one study question.

One spokesperson will report to the class the group’s discussion of the

key concept question assigned to them.

(5 minutes group discussion and 10 minutes to report)

    1. Share and discuss your paragraphs on: The birth of every baby changes the world. Do not criticize each other’s paragraphs, but enjoy the richness of the diversity of answers.

    2. Discuss the meaning of the word miracle. Talk about some miracles done in the Old Testament.

    3. If you were Mary’s mother, how would you handle the fact that your daughter was pregnant? Remember back in those times women were stoned for not being a virgin when they married.

    4. God always keeps His promises. Discuss God’s promise to David his kingdom would never end.

    5. Mary had other children by Joseph after Jesus was born. How do you think she kept herself from being partial to Jesus?

    6. …God who created all things through Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 3:9b). Jesus knew from creation that He was to be the Savior of the world and that He would shed His blood and die a criminal’s death and this was God’s will. What does this tell about Jesus’ loving heart and willingness to obey God?

    Chapter 2

    Blood In Childbirth

    (10 minutes)

To the woman he said, I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children.

    Genesis 3:16a

One of the most infallible proofs that the Bible is the Word of God is the fact that women suffer bearing children. Evolutionists may come up with other reasons why this is so, but a woman’s experience of having a child still proves this is true.

No baby is born without the mother shedding blood. Women need the best-trained persons possible to help them when they are in labor and giving birth. Too much medication is not good for the mother or the baby. Sometimes there is a flood of bleeding and even the most skillful obstetrician has problems stopping its flow.

Women unable to deliver a baby on their own or for some other reason have their baby by Caesarian section. This practice goes back to the time of Caesar. Then the woman always died and most times the baby lived. Today C-sections are safer and there are few deaths of the mother. Blood is always shed during a C-section.

    Scarlet Thread Connection

God said, "The life of a creature is in their blood (Leviticus 17:11). Write what it means to you that a mother sheds blood giving life to a new baby and Jesus shed His blood to give spiritual life
