As I have pondered for many years upon this subject of supernatural revelations through dreams, visions, near death and out of body experiences, I have come to the conclusion, that in truth, these experiences enable your spirit to recall that place from which it came and to where it must soon return; To the heavenly city, the city of God, from where all things began.

It was February 1993. My daughter Melissa (age 13) and I were asked by a friend of ours to please join her for a Sunday morning service at a new church she was attending. She was quite excited about this church. I asked her what kind of church it was and she told me it was a full gospel (Pentecostal) church. She was not an every-week church attendee from what I gathered, but so very excited about this particular church.
I accepted the invitation and told her we would meet her the following Sunday. I thought it would be nice to visit another church and see how it differed from how I was brought up in the faith. I was brought up in a very strict fundamental Ukrainian Baptist Church, in Chicago, Illinois. My parents were immigrants from the Ukraine. We immigrated to the U.S. in 1949, my mom, dad, my brother Steve, and I. My brother was around the age of three and a half years old and I had just turned one month old to the date, on our arrival here in the United States of America. My parents had already known people in Chicago because many had preceded us in immigrating here. After we settled in, mom, dad, Steve, and I started attending The Baptist Church. It was a large church of maybe five hundred people. (Until the age of 42 I attended a Baptist congregation.) So I was quite interested in visiting this other church.
The following Sunday Melissa and I met our friend at the church for morning service. It was a nice sized church. It looked to have approximately 1500 people in attendance. Nice sized choir also. The service started with praise and worship, lots of singing in the beginning. The music was much different from what I was used to. I was used to the old time gospel hour music and singing (very low key), very reverent and quiet. This church had a band with many instruments including guitars and drums, and the music was loud. The people were lifting their hands up in the air in worship to God and they all seemed to be quite joyful. Many were also clapping their hands to the music, as well as swaying back and forth.
I stood there in the pew with Melissa for a while watching and listening, when finally we looked at each other and nodded our heads as to say, Wow, this is certainly different.
The sermon was good and the service ended. Many people came over to us, greeted us as first time visitors, and invited us to come back. Melissa really enjoyed the music and the service, and actually, I did too. It was different and I liked the joyfulness. Being raised in the Baptist church, that I spent my childhood and teenage years in was very different. This was a House of Prayer where husbands and wives were not allowed to sit together during services. Families were separated. Men and boys sat on one side, and women and girls sat on the other side of the church. This always seemed very strange to me. There never seemed to be much joy during services. We always heard the fire and brimstone messages. Anything we did outside the church was considered a sin. Boys and girls were not allowed to talk to each other in church or we would be accused of doing something improper. No makeup, no jewelry, no movies, no bowling, and God forbid you were caught dancing. That was the Devil’s workings! We were always being told we would go to Hell if we didn’t do this or that. So I always had a fear of God, afraid that I was not going to heaven when I died. When I was seventeen years old I left this church. There was a lot going on in this church that I could write about but this will suffice for now.
As I grew older and got married I continued attending a Baptist church, a different one, until this particular time in my life that I am now writing about.
When Melissa and I got home from church that Sunday afternoon we discussed everything about the service and we both agreed that we enjoyed it. We went back again the next week, and every week after that for the next eight years. It wasn’t long at all before we became very involved in the church. I joined the choir and the drama club. Melissa also joined the drama club and became very active with the youth. We made many wonderful friends. We were happy in our new church and became members. This church was filling our needs spiritually and emotionally. I was spiritually hungry and wanted very much to grow in the knowledge and understanding of my Savior Jesus (in Hebrew, Yeshua), my Redeemer, my God.
I found a Bible study group from the church that got together on a monthly basis in someone’s home for a time of fellowship and study of God’s word. We always had a great time. I found that I was starting to become increasingly interested in the workings of the Holy Spirit. One time, I was talking with some people about things that they had experienced when the Holy Spirit was on them. One woman was telling me about the experience she had of floating out of her body, up towards the ceiling, and she said at that point she got frightened and went back into her body. This conversation was quite interesting to me because I actually had been studying and researching these kinds of experiences on and off for about nine years prior to this conversation. As of this writing it has been approximately twenty-six years of study and research into this field of the Spirit Realm. Spiritual dreams, visions, out of body experiences, near death, life after death, UFO/fallen angels, angels, demons, heaven, hell, and paranormal activities.
One Sunday at the end of service, the pastor gave
