    Girl Talk 2 - Stella B. Good

    Chapter 1

It was Kaci who decided to host the first powwow at her house. We were going to hang out in the family room which was simply beautiful. The sofa and love seat was powder blue and sat on chrome legs. The end tables were made with smoked glass trimmed in chrome. The carpet was also powder blue with silver specks. Tyra, Tracey and Kendra came in and were sprawled on the floor. Kaci started off by saying, hello my sisters, we haven’t had a powwow in a long time due to some circumstances but we are all together today so let’s get this thing started. I’m sure you have something you want to get off your chest. All right Tyra, start it off. What have you done to a person that has really pissed you off?

Tyra immediately began talking, I have put a whole bag of sugar in someone’s gas tank. He has always suspected me but never had any proof. He just couldn’t believe that I would do something like that. When a woman is pissed off she’s liable to do anything.

Kendra hollered, You got that shit right. Hell, I once dated this guy who had given me a key to his house. He swore that he wasn’t talking to anyone but that was a lie. I bet he have nightmares at night about a key. You see I gave him his key back and I used mine to scratch the hell out of his car. He never confronted me about it because he was dealing with several women at the same time so who knows who did it.

Tyra reminded her sisters that she still had some unfinished business with Jarred or Jay or whatever name he was going by these days.

Tracey asked, do you all remember the guy I talked to name Devin? We were together for about a year and he had given me a key to his car. He had been acting kind of shady lately so one evening I followed him. He went and picked up his other woman and went to the motel. Any fool with common sense knows that you don’t take someone to a place where you and your woman went to get your swerve on when you first met. I went to the hotel where he and I use to go. Why did I move the car two blocks away? It was definitely a Kodak moment. I sat in my car and laughed my ass off, how they got back is beyond me.

The next day he called me and asked if I could pick him up. I asked him where his car was and he told me he had to put it in the shop. It was a wet and gloomy day I told him to be out in front I should be there in about five minutes. I went and got his car and parked it in front of my house. I told him I had forgotten something and needed to run by the house. I told him since his car was here I had some running to do and would catch up with him later.

Needless to say he bout shit on himself, I thought he was about to have a nervous breakdown when he saw the car. I asked this fool about his car being in the shop and he told me one of his partners was supposed to pick it up and drop it off at my house. I’ll say this, now it really did have to go to the shop. I put everything but the damn kitchens sink in his tank. I’m talking popcorn, butter, a hotdog and sugar just to name a few. This is what I call a meal on wheels.

Vaughn who was a hermaphrodite and a very good friend of Tyra seemed visibly shaken when she arrived at Tyra’s house. She prayed that she was at home. Vaughn had rang the doorbell twice before Tyra came to the door. There were remnants of dried up tears on her face.

Tyra began questioning Vaughn. Girl what’s wrong with you? Tyra fixed her a drink hoping that it would calm her down, but it didn’t so she fixed her another one. After Vaughn explained what had happened Tyra felt really guilty, had her worse fears came true? Had she put this girl in harm’s way and if so how was she going to fix this shit? Too afraid for her to go home, Tyra suggested that she stay there for a while. After discussing the situation Tyra suggested Vaughn take a nice hot bath and go to bed.

While standing in the shower Tyra cried like a baby. As she looked up toward the sky she asked, Lord what have I done?

Ray was still in shock. He took time off from work to regroup. The thoughts that ran through his mind were very confusing. He felt humiliated and stupid. He kept asking himself how this could be.

How come I didn’t know? He had bragged about this person to all his family and friends.

For the time being, he shut himself off from the rest of the world. He very seldom left the house and would hardly answer his phone. During this time he grew more and more depressed. How would he ever be able to live this down? Ray has started drinking heavily day in and day out. Only to wake up to a helluvah headache and the same problems he had the day before.

Sometimes things happen in life to humble you. Ray thought maybe god was punishing him because of the way he’s treated women. He played with their feelings with reckless regard.

He’s never thought about it until now, the many women he has hurt with his lies and games.

I’m sure that all the women he has hurt in the past would have pure gratification if they knew what he’s going through.

As Tyra starred out of her bedroom window she thought about Jarred. Knowing how people like to gossip, she wouldn’t be surprised if it somehow got leaked about Vaughn being the way she was. I just can’t imagine how devastated he would be. I guess that’s the price you pay when you play and its cost is not always of monetary value.

I’m sure having peace of mind is worth more than money itself. You can have all the money in the world and still be broke. All the things you really need can’t be bought. Although, many people have tried to buy love, respect and trust, in reality all of things are priceless.
