      To the words that help me make sense

      of the poetry of life.

      Foreword

      Every project has its own personality and its own soul. That’s why I always feel the need to write a particular Foreword and About the Author section for each work. A lot of people don’t read these but to me, it’s important.

      It’s important to take that time to anyone who is reading me, so they can know a bit more about the particular part of me that I am sharing in each project. This collection is called Roulette of Rhymes because in the gamble of life, chance and lady luck will factor in part to who you are. It’s not that it’ll determine who you are, but it will certainly inspire what comes from within.

      Fate itself isn’t a set path we can’t escape, but it is a context in which we live in. Life decisions, paths taken, and a myriad of other variables make sense only in hindsight because in the chaos that we call the present, we’re guessing at best. How we feel from one day to the next can vary significantly and every step of the way I’ve been able to trust in a piece of paper and pen or pencil to make sense of particular slices of reality.

      This collection is a reflection of how unplanned my mind can be and how we can find beauty in the most random things if we only open our eyes and pay attention with our writer minds.

      Life continually offers many surprises and this collection is my way of trying to share a few literary surprises with you. So thank you for spinning the wheel, and I hope you enjoy the ride.
