About this ebook

Jake is on a much-needed vacation when he receives a desperate call from Alan, his former boyfriend. Against his better judgment, Jake comes to Alan’s aid. But when the men are stranded in the middle of nowhere, Alan is determined to get to town before the sun sets rather than spend the night in the car. Unfortunately, they have to cut across private property to do it. Since it’s trespassing, they could get arrested—or surrounded by a bunch of cowboys hell bent on teaching the trespassers a lesson.

Thankfully, a muscular, stunning cowboy named Colton shows up to save the day. But he’s not about to let Jake off easy. It seems there are still a few lessons to be learned, and it looks like they might involve leather, some handcuffs, and a suspiciously high, padded trunk...

Hurri Cosmo

Hurri Cosmo lives in Minnesota where she holds tight to the idea that there, where it’s cold a good part of the year, she won’t age as fast. Yep, she avoids the truth as much as she avoids mirrors. But one of the reasons she loves writing is reality doesn’t always offer up a “happily ever after” and being able to take control of that is a powerful lure. Being a happy ending junkie, writing just makes them easier to find. Oh, she doesn’t mind “real life” and she does try to at least keep it in mind when she writes her stories, but she truly loves creating a wonderful couple, knowing they will fall in love and have their HEA. Every - single - time. And, of course, that is exactly the reason she loves reading this genre, too. Give her a glass of red wine, some dark chocolate, and her computer, whether she is reading or writing, and she will entertain herself for hours. The fact she actually gets paid to do it is Snickers bars on the frosting on the cake.

    Taming Jake

…Colton slipped off the horse, still holding on to him. Jake let out an involuntary cry as he fell into Colton’s arms. Colton chuckled as he let him go. He nodded toward the barn and a side door then told Jake to go inside. There was a breezeway he was to wait in. He would be in soon.

Without saying anything, Jake turned toward the front of the barn and walked over to it. He opened the indicated side door, slipped inside, and closed it behind him. The space was tight in the breezeway and the window on the door that led into the barn was too small to show much of what was inside. On impulse, Jake opened that door, too, and walked in. The atmosphere in the barn smelled far different than Jake had thought it would. He could detect hay, lots of leather, and fresh air, but little else. The area he was standing in was large and open. Several stalls stood on either side of the aisle and he walked down that aisle, glancing in each one. They appeared to be totally deserted. And clean. Really? What was he supposed to do then? He walked back to the front and saw another door off to the side. Maybe there was something behind that door that Colton was going to have him do. He walked over to it and was just about to open it when a voice boomed out from behind him.

I thought I told you to wait in the breezeway!

Startled, Jake swung around. Colton stood at the door he had come in from, hands on those powerful hips, thick legs spread apart, his expression stern and angry. Shit. That was even sexy. I…just…

"You just what? I thought you said you were obedient. What should you have done?"

I-I should have… Crap! His heart was doing ridiculous things and his cock was taking very interested notice at the tone. He hoped it wouldn’t matter. Colton had already seen his bulge anyway…

Look, Jake, the map clearly shows there’s a little hick town a couple of miles that way. Alan pointed out across a large expanse of land separated from them by a barbed wire fence. "If we walk this deserted road, it’s more like six miles. In the heat! Why can’t we cut across right here?"

"Because, genius, the sign says No Trespassing. It’s a ranch and it’s private property. We could get arrested."

Well, that would be just fine with me. It’s going to be dark soon. I really don’t want to be out here when that happens, do you?

No, Jake didn’t. But he didn’t see a lot of other choices either. We should just stay with the car until morning, then walk the road to the town. It’ll be cooler then and maybe we’ll be able to thumb a ride. Although there had been no traffic ever since Jake’s car died on the side of the road—a road that was supposed to be a short cut across country, according to Alan’s stupid map.

Fuck that. Look, stay here if you want. I’m going. I’m not staying out here—even in the car—until morning. With that, Alan walked over to the fence and carefully ducked through it. Come on, Jake. No one will even know. He turned and started to walk, folding his map as
