About this ebook

Adelaide Te Ngawai was thirteen when Maunga Richards stole her voice.

Addy is plunged into silence when a high school bully inflicts her with an incurable disease that leaves her unable to speak, write, or create. Vox Pox—a man-made malady that’s been terrorizing the city for months. Resilient, Addy fights to survive. To not be silenced. But then her brother, Theo, is infected as well.

Desperate for any information that might help cure Theo, Addy follows Maunga into a newly developed virtual psychoreality simulator and discovers a conspiracy deeper than she’d ever imagined. How far will she go to save her brother?

“A stunning debut from a fresh force in young adult fiction. With swift, deft prose set in a fantastic future, Wilson finds her voice in Voiceless.”—Tosca Lee, New York Times bestselling

E.G. Wilson

E.G. Wilson grew up on the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, those Pevensie kids, and the Swallows & Amazons. Further inspired by Sherlock, Firefly, and Tolkien’s Legendarium, she turned her hand to writing stories of her own and has never looked back. Introduced to National Novel Writing Month in 2012, she has completed the challenge every November without fail. Wilson lives in South Canterbury, New Zealand. She loves mountains, hates broad beans, and never wears matching socks. In high school, Wilson was voted Most Likely To Re-Write The Lord Of The Rings by her classmates. She thinks The Lord Of The Rings is just fine the way it is.

One of the more interesting and original plots I've come across. The odyssey Addy must go on in order to find out who stole her voice, so she can find a way to recover it and, more importantly, her brother's, is intriguing and having to rely upon a ghost in a virtual world who has a strong, but mysterious connection with someone she mistrusts, makes for a very engaging read. I'm eager to read the second book so I can see how everything gets resolved.
