Raw Vegan Recipes for Beginners - Alissa Law
Introduction
What exactly is the raw vegan diet? The raw vegan diet can be described as a healthy eating plan where the food you eat is not cooked above 118°F or 48°C. It therefore consists mainly of fresh and dried fruit, vegetables, nut-based cheeses, sprouted seeds, soaked and rolled grains, nuts and seeds.
These items may not sound very nourishing, however, they furnish just about all the nutrients that most nutritional experts will recommend for you to have a healthy and balanced diet. Whenever we cook foods, we destroy some of the enzymes, vitamins and minerals essential for good health. If we eat an excessive amount of overly-cooked and processed foods, it can clog our colon, which may result in a lot of problems, including heart-disease, cancer, diabetes and many other degenerative diseases.
Fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens contain sustainable amounts of carbohydrates, protein and fat that are optimum for human health. When people combine a suitable raw diet with additional healthful living habits, they rarely develop weight control problems or chronic illnesses.
