About this ebook

Non-shifter Mpreg romance.

Chad Templeton loves running his wedding cake business. That is until he has to make a cake for Robert Smart. Robert is everything Chad hates in an alpha: demanding, arrogant and thinks he knows best.

Robert finds the omega, Chad, extremely touchy. But what he can’t deny is the heat between the two of them. When he convinces Chad they don’t have to like each other to sleep with each other, Chad agrees.

Their night together is supposed to be a one-off. But there’s no way this alpha and omega are going to get off that easy.

This is book one in my new Mpreg Family Series. This story is a non-shifter Mpreg set in a contemporary setting.

    Chapter One

    Chad

Jesus, don’t tip it. I growled, balancing the wedding cake box. All the stackers in the world won’t keep it upright if you lay the damn box on its side.

Relax, boss. This isn’t my first rodeo. Sal rolled his eyes.

Yeah, well, we both know Robert isn’t going to go easy on us if this sucker ends up on the cement.

This cake had been a nightmare since the first phone call from the best man, Robert Smart. The bride, Amelia, had been lovely, but the best man had been a pain in the ass to deal with. First, he’d insisted on a gluten-free coconut cake with raspberry filling, which was no easy task. Not if you wanted it to actually have the taste and texture of a real wedding cake. And to top it off, he’d wanted a thousand handmade edible flowers to adorn the dessert. I’d almost had a stroke because of this stupid cake.

Tell me again why the best man is handling all of this instead of the bride and groom?

Because he’s paying for his brother’s wedding and I guess that means he gets to have final say about everything. I stepped carefully through the back door of the kitchen. He’s a bit of a control freak if you ask me.

Sal snorted, following me slowly through the door way. And that’s saying something coming from you.

I’m a saint compared to him.

    Well, he is an alpha.

Very true. Alphas in our society tended to be extremely used to getting their way. Omegas like me and Sal were a little easier going. In theory. I could admit I was pretty high strung for an omega.

The kitchen was buzzing with activity since the caterer had beat me here. I was relieved I didn’t have to cater the whole wedding. If Robert had been this big of a pain with just the cake, I couldn’t imagine what he’d have been like with the entire menu.

We made our way carefully into the main dining area of the country club. The tables were adorned with white cloths, burgundy napkins and crystal glasses. Each table had ornate flower arrangements with bright pink peonies and purple hydrangeas. There was a deejay and a four piece jazz band setting up at the end of the room, and the sax player was warming up as Sal and I took the cake to a stand near the gift table.

We cut the taped flap on the cake box and slowly pulled the four tier cake from the container. Very carefully we centered it on the table and then I began adding some live flowers to give the cake an elegant, fresh look. When I’d finished, I stood back and scanned the cake very slowly to make sure it was perfect.

Robert Smart came striding into the room and even though he annoyed the crap out of me, I had to admit he looked handsome as hell in his tux. We’d only met in person once before and I’d forgotten how attractive he was. His shiny black hair brushed his collar and his jacket fit his muscular build perfectly. When he saw me he hesitated and then he moved toward me.

Chad. He nodded his head in greeting.

Robert. We shook hands. Well, what do you think? I gestured toward the cake.

He narrowed his eyes and then he gave a curt, It’s nice.

Nice? I busted my ass on this cake and all
