God Will Make a Way - Apostle Samuel Oduro
CALLING
PREFACE
The Awesome Power of God
The people of God, who are born again believers, are the true worshippers of God. Here is my question: If we believe that God really divided the Red Sea in two and allowed the Children of Israel to walk on dry land through the parted sea—which, no doubt, was the case—then must we not have genuine faith in the Lord Jesus? Our faith must become unbreakable! He is the Rock of our Salvation, and we ought to turn to Him for help always!
Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters … Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
(Isaiah 43:16, 18–19)
We the people of God shouldn’t let anything bother us at all. We should look forward to God and have an intimate relationship with Him. He is all in all for us. Nothing is too hard for Him. If there seems to be no way, let’s rest assured that He will make a way for us. Amen!
God is the source of love. The Bible says, God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him,
(1 John 4:16). Jesus said that the love of God existed before the foundation of the world. (John 17:24). We must have a good relationship with God to gain a godly love. No one can destroy godly love—not even Satan.
Jesus wants us to walk in love as He loved us and gave Himself for us, offering a sacrifice to God as a sweet-smelling aroma. It’s very important for the people of God to put their love into action. If you put your love into action, God will make a way for you. God makes a way through love.
In the Bible, the true love that Ruth demonstrated to Naomi, her mother-in-law, when her husband and two sons died, turned Naomi’s tears into joy. Although Naomi was upset, worried, and in great pain following the tragic deaths of her husband and two sons, the pure and perfect love that Ruth showed to her brought great comfort to Naomi.
Christians Must Love Each Other
The lack of godly love creates division among God’s people. If we want to live a holy life, then we must exercise divine love towards one another as our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to do. The first fruit of the Spirit is love.
When a church is full of loving people, it will have tremendous power to influence the lost people of the world to draw close to God for the salvation of their souls. The church will grow like a tree that is planted by the side of the river, where it will obtain all the nourishment it needs. The members will come from different backgrounds. They will assemble and worship Almighty God in a beautiful way, and the power of God will flow like a fountain of water that comes from the heart of God. Amen! Good things happen to us because of God’s favour. We are God’s favourite children; therefore, He makes a way for us even where there seems to be no way.
God instituted tithing right from the beginning when the patriarch, Abraham, paid his tithe to Melchizedek. Refusing to pay our tithes creates one of the biggest hindrances to God’s blessing, favour, and good health in our lives. The payment of our tithes opens divine doors for us that cannot be closed by the devil and his demonic kingdom. We need to obey the voice of God, because although His grace is free, His blessing is not free! We must do our part by obeying God in the payment of our tithes (Malachi 3:10).
God Makes a Way through Worship, Prayer, and Fasting
It’s very important for the people to give praises and thanksgiving to our God, because that’s where He loves to inhabit (Psalm 22:3). As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have to learn to praise Him always. David said, I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies,
(Psalm 18:3). Worship and praises are common in heaven and on earth, so we must take them seriously. It’s very important for God and for us. When we worship and praise God, we are bestowing the honour and adoration that are due to Him as Creator of heaven and earth. When King Jehoshaphat wanted to go to war, he appointed singers unto the Lord who would praise the beauty of His holiness. As they went out before the army, they praised the Lord for the everlasting endurance of His mercy. Through worship, thanksgiving, and praises, God gave a resounding victory to King Jehoshaphat and his people. This is a clear demonstration of the fact that God makes a way through worship, praises, and thanksgiving. Amen!
The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth He has given to the children of men,
(Psalm 115:16). The Scriptures reveal to us that heaven belongs to God, and the earth belongs to mankind. This means that we can only use prayer to communicate with God. Fortunately, He has promised to answer our prayers, so it’s up to us to pray to God every day. We must not assume that if we pray today there will be no need to pray tomorrow.
The people of God should never give up praying when they don’t receive immediate answers to their prayers. It doesn’t matter if there is a delay. One thing is for sure—God will answer your prayer at the appropriate time. As Christians, quitting prayer means quitting God. You can’t be a Christian without praying. It’s like a soldier going to war without a weapon. Christians are soldiers in God’s army. The only way we can communicate with God is through prayer. Prayer is the only way we can have an intimate relationship with God. I urge Christians to keep on praying until your prayers are answered.
Jesus said, This kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting,
(Mark 9:29); the Lord said, Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning,
(Joel 2:12) God makes a way through prayer with fasting. Fasting is the last resort to save your life and get your freedom back.
The people of Nineveh obtained God’s mercy through fasting. When the prophet Jonah eventually delivered God’s message of repentance to Nineveh, the king and his people repented through fasting. The Lord spared their lives because they stopped their evil deeds.
Queen Esther and the Jews were also delivered through fasting. God made a way for Queen Esther, her cousin Mordecai, and the Jewish people in exile through prayer and fasting. What is impossible for man is possible for God. We have to play our part by doing what is possible for us to do. God will do what is impossible for us to accomplish, and He will deliver us from the hands of our enemies. Victory is ours. Amen!
God Makes a Way for Those Who Know Him
People of God, you must get to know who God is by developing an intimate relationship with Him. The Bible says, … the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits,
(Daniel 11:32). Happiness is to know who God is. Knowing God is life preserving and life fulfilling. No matter what problems you may face, God will always make a way for those who know Him. If you really know who God is, your life will become invincible. The sovereign power of God will follow you wherever you go. Temptations may come your way, but you will always come out victorious in the end. Amen!
God testified that David was a man after His own heart, because he knew God. Those who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. God made a way for David to overcome the Philistines’ champion, Goliath. God turned what would have been impossible for David to be possible for him, and he defeated Goliath—the strongest of the Philistines. Praise Almighty God!
CHAPTER 1
God Makes a
Way through Love
What Is Love?
The root of love and its purpose come from the very heart of God. When we read the Bible, we fully understand that love began in the heart of God. No one can deny that. If we deny this knowledge, then we are left with a counterfeit of love that does not come from the God who created us.
God wants you to love Him as much as He loves you. God has good things to offer those who love Him.
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation. (Psalm 91:14–16)
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away … And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:4–8, 13)
People of God, these scriptures show us that love does good, not harm. Jesus wants us to engage in a deeper walk of love. Love is so important to our Lord Jesus Christ, because He Himself is love. That is His nature, so live in Christ’s love. Let your life be a fragrant aroma of worship to the Lord. … walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma,
(Ephesians 5:2).
Ruth demonstrated a true love to her mother-in-law, Naomi—the pure and perfect love that casts out fear and turned Naomi’s pain and depression into joy. Naomi was in pain, upset, and worried about the tragedy that had befallen her, but Ruth’s compassion comforted her and turned her tears into joy.
When famine was in the land of Israel, Elimelech, a man of Bethlehem from the tribe of Judah, his wife, named Naomi, and their two sons, Mahlon and Chilion- Ephrathites, went to the country of Moab to dwell. Eventually, Abimelech died. Their two sons married Moabite women, Orpah and Ruth. They remained there for about ten years until both sons also died.
Naomi decided to go back to her country, Israel, and dwell in Bethlehem. She told her daughters-in-law that the famine was over. They travelled with Naomi on the way to return to the land of Judah, where Naomi told them both to return to their mothers’ house. She
