(Is a writer, a child of a mid century holiday romance that lasted a lifetime. He has labels that are Welsh and Black Country married to an Irish beauty.
His words are made up discoveries that have been published in anthologies and magazines . He is new to poetry and his tablet touch screen is very dented.
Enjoy.)
Introduction
Poetry is the purest form of language. There is such beauty and skill in being able to convey a feeling in a few well-chosen words, rather than writing masses of text. When you’re economical with words they suddenly have far more value.
Poetry is also appealing due to its freedom from grammatical rules. You can have structure, or rhymes in a more traditional sense, but poems are equally powerful when rhythms are changed or the words just flow - seemingly randomly - into each other.
People shy away from poetry, perhaps fearing that they won’t understand it or can’t relate to it but the truth is every song, saying or nursery rhyme is really a piece of poetry.
I view some poetry like abstract art. Instead of trying hard to understand
