    Vital - Xavier Neal

    Logan

Why do I take you shopping? It's like taking a rabid toddler to a candy store, Erin groans at me before yanking me by my t-shirt away from the curly haired brunette girl rocking a pair of leg warmers.

I could warm those legs. What? Wish I was warming yours too? Come a little closer, baby and I just might.

Is it my fault if I wanna lick and taste everything too? The comment is followed by a wicked grin before she elbows me in the side.

    Don't worry. Doesn't hurt.

Why do I even talk to you?

"Don't wanna take me shopping. Don't wanna talk to me. Erin...what do you wanna do with me?" I wiggle my brown eyebrows.

Abruptly, she stops dead in her stiletto boots in the department store and turns around with a very viscous look on her face.

One step too far ya think?

Logan Kellar, I will make sure if you say something like that again to me today that your nickname of Unbreakable will be proven to be a false one. Understood? The threat is preceded by her pulling her extremely long straight brown hair to one side of her face.

You're acting awful, Mr. Scrooge, like someone who treats Christmas like the Golden Ticket to the Wonka Factory every year. My arms cross my broad chest.

See, this is what happens when you let Maxx pick the movies before bed. I had dreams of swimming in chocolate syrup...with topless girls, but still. It was sexy but unnatural.

You know Christmas was a big deal in my house, Kellar. Like the biggest. And this year everything just seems.... Erin's voice gets lost in the shopping mall crowd as it drifts off never finishing. Quickly, she puts back on her snippy face and glares at me. Just get your shit together. I don't wanna babysit you in the mall any longer than I have to. Go grab Maxx's presents and meet me back here.

I offer her a hempy smile. No problem. Maybe while I'm gone you'll find your jolly old ho, ho, ho spirit.

Catching on immediately she sneers. Why don't you find a little ho, ho, ho spirit, Kellar? You're the one who hates Christmas so much.

It's not that I hate Christmas, it's just we were raised in two different lifestyles and Christmas means two different things for us. I'll give you an example so you stop looking at me like I pissed in your stocking. At Christmas time, her loving parents would cuddle with them on the couch every night from December 1st to the 25th to watch a Christmas movie together as a family. On Christmas morning, if my mom's eye wasn't swollen shut from being beaten by the old man, who had too much eggnog, she would give me one of the leftover holiday cookies she snatched from work. Oh. For fuck's sake stop staring at me like that. I don't need sympathy. And I don't want a Christmas fucking cookie. I don't wanna step back into time and wish for a typical childhood Christmas. You wanna know what I need, and no, it's not a hug. I need to find some ass. It's about time to tap some. That always plants a smile on my face. Nothing like
