About this ebook

When horse racing and football collide, Hunter McCoy, star tight end of the Seattle Steelheads and neophyte horse owner, finds himself in a battle of wills with a sexy horsewoman and a stubborn, opinionated race horse.

Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan's family has raised champion Thoroughbreds on their Kentucky bluegrass farm for over a century. Lately the farm has fallen on hard times, but Kate is determined to return Oak Brook to its former glory. First, she must satisfy an odd clause in her grandfather's will. She's been given five years to produce a winner of horse racing's biggest prize of all, the Derby, or lose the farm to her siblings and their development plans. Time has run out, and Hunter's talented horse stands between Kate and her last shot at the Derby. Only Kate never counted on her heart entering the race.

Hunter is juggling his responsibilities to his two-dozen investors, his blind sister, his football career, and his commitment to his tribe. The last thing he needs is an unwanted attraction to a spoiled rich girl who doesn't fit into his carefully crafted plans. Not only are they rivals on the race track, but she doesn't understand or appreciate his dedication to his Native American heritage. Yet despite the odds, all bets are off when Hunter and Kate find themselves in a relationship they can't resist.

With the stakes much higher than the Derby purse, can these two longshots win the biggest race of their lifetime or will their hearts finish out of the money?

Jami Davenport blew this book out of the park! With multiple POVs and two couples to follow throughout, it was absolutely amazing! Both couples’ stories were truly breathtaking. I loved how Jami brought in the culture of the American Indians, I actually learned something from reading this book, major plus!

Hunter and Kate’s story centered around horses and not football like one would expect since Hunter is the star of the Steelheads. Hunter sees Kate as a stuck up entitled rich white woman who only wants his horse to win a race. Kate wants that horse to save her family’s farm. What they feel for each other is sparks and explosions of passion. Once they can get past the walls of culture shock.

Now, Lilly and Cam are another story. Lilly is Hunter’s blind sister that he is super overprotective about. He doesn’t want his player best friend to hurt her in anyway. It is only when Cam and Lilly start seeing each other behind Hunter’s back and fall in love that Hunter realizes he has no control over his sister and what she feels for who.

This book has to be one of my favorites in this series so far. Jami has an absolutely amazing way of telling a story. Cannot wait for the next book!

Jami Davenport is “in the money” with GAME CHANGER, the seventh book in the Game On Seattle Series. In the previous books, Seattle Steelhead's tight end, Hunter McCoy, talked a group of his friends into investing in a race horse. He finds himself intrigued with Kate Vanderhof, the owner of his horse’s biggest competition. Simultaneously, he is being an overprotective younger brother to his blind sister, Lilli. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.I like Hunter. He is proud of being a Native American, and he is a good role model. I wasn’t sure what to make of him in the previous books, and I loved hearing his story. At first, Kate seems like an unlikely match for Hunter. The more they learn about each other the more compatible they discover they are. They come from different backgrounds but have similar values. Both love horses. They both want to do good for others. I love Lilli. She has an amazing personality and outlook on life. Instead of being bitter about becoming blind, she lives her life to the fullest and does not let her condition hold her back. She has numerous degrees, is an accomplished professional, and skilled equestrian. I have known people that have had various disabilities and overcome them. They are so confident that you forget about their condition. It is an admiral quality. I really enjoyed the plot. It was unique, and it had a lot going on. I like that the characters from the previous book in the series, are investors in the horse and are included in this novel. I enjoyed the horse-racing aspect to the story. The football scenes were well described. There were interesting conflict and resolutions. The ending was perfect. GAME CHANGER was an amazing addition to the Game On in Seattle series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
