Barack Obama's Two Tremendous Terms - Barry L. Fletcher

    cadence.

    2009

WHAT A GLORIOUS TIME TO BE ALIVE!

I've seen the revolution and it was televised

And even more to my surprise

A stream of water running from my eyes

I'm not ashamed to tell this story

'Cause right then I knew, they had seen the glory

Cleansing my eyes giving me clearer vision

All the while wondering how America came to this decision

Surely in the past, it was a job for John Wayne

Can he jump tall buildings, is he a bird or a plane

Never thought I'd live to see it, I'm happy to say Yes I Can!

See an extraordinary resurrection of an ordinary man

Better than walking on water, better than Count Basie's band

The high from my father's dreams gave me the audacity of hope

No more excuses, racism or abuses, polluting our body with dope

Let's handle our business... children, Mr. & the Mrs.

Live your best life, single, married, gay, husband or wife

Now is the time we've been waiting for

So don't act like you don't want it no more

And for those of you who don't have a clue

Wake-up to the reality the dream has come true!

WHEN THE AUDACITY OF HOPE COMES BACK TO HAUNT!

Everybody owns him and has agendas for him to flaunt

Democrats say bend to the left, republicans insist, better get it right, so what do you want?

The feminists won't have it, not enough women in the cabinet; he's getting a dog and not a cat

What do you animal lovers think about that?

Palestinians are launching rockets like they think it's hip

Israelis bomb the life out of the Gaza Strip

White folks reached out and decided to vote him in

We're all looking for jobs not taken by the Mexicans

He's got to fix the economy... he's got to end the war

Don't forget about the seniors, the soldiers and the poor

Foreigners out front protesting, before he even got sworn in

Gays had their lips poked out 'cause he picked Rick Warren

Black folks had a dream to keep hope alive

Been waiting for a change since 1965

Hope is living in all of us and things just ain't the same

We know this time the hunter won't be captured by the game

Jeremiah was a bull-frog; he wasn't a friend of mine

Never understood his words in church but he had a mighty fine wine

It seems like those who supported him, want their own needs met

Harass your local lawmakers, they haven't passed the stimulus bill yet

He's our Commander In Chief, well informed from the briefs, that there's so much more work left to do!

So give him a chance, get his name right if you can that's Mr. President ...or President Obama to you

    THE ROAD TO ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Will run from the freeway to the highway

Before it comes around my way

Hold-on to your house, your car and your pay

Recession could end this year, Fed Chief say

Obama's call for action, balances optimism with urgency

Now is the time to invest in education, health-care and energy

Just when I thought the slow-down was harmless

I watched the joint session of congress

Stimulus plan, bank bailout proposal and a housing program, great

    Health-care reform can-not, must-not and will-not...wait

Over are the CEOs in flight via corporate jet

Firing good employees, they hadn't even met

The answers to the crisis are not beyond our reach

They exist in the imaginations, of people who teach

By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will finally end

We will rebuild our army, treasury and the economy

The war on terrorism, is still out there to win

Recession, depression are one of the same

Did we spend too much money chasing Saddam Hussein?

There's a new Pres in town... starting one trillion dollars down, says he's going to change the whole world around

Now, it won't be easy, couldn't imagine it being this hard

Should I invest my little money, or bury it in the back yard?

You can get stimulus money from the tax payers to save your tail

Maybe South Carolina's Gov Mark Sanford is misunderstood

He wants to redirect $700 million from the schools in the 'hood

Republican Governors say no to the cash, but then talk is cheap

They just say no to everything after the Obama democratic sweep

Frugal is the new fabulous, the glamorous rave

Brown-bagging is cool, Tupperware lunch in the microwave

President Obama is no socialist, surely we all know that

Although, socialism may be poised, for a new comeback

The Government can run things, without special interest or pork

For 42 cent, Post-office gets my letter there next-day, in New York

The task of salvaging a capitalist society, intent on destroying itself

When 5 percent of the population controls 85 percent of the wealth

Is inherited by our Commander In Chief, let's pray he stays in good health
