GENERALS: Recalling Age 19

About this ebook
Amos Alonzo Stagg is referred to as the Grand Ol’ Man of Football. He died on St. Patrick’s Day in 1965 at the ripe old age of 102! Today’s Stagg Bowl, which determines the D-3 collegiate pigskin champion, is so named in his honor. Thank the good Lord, he was not on this earth to Google the shameless season of the purple-clad Generals and the wild exploits of 19-year-old defensive back, Brian James, or A. A. Stagg may have been wearin’ of the green and feelin’ ill much before the 17th of March.

GENERALS: Recalling Age Nineteen is a true memoir. The names of my teammates have been doctored to protect myself and the lads themselves from unforeseen circumstances which could ensnare us in ambiguous situations. The name and location of my undergraduate experience have also received such protection as was furnished its beloved mascot.

DEDICATION
Helmets off, folks, to the sacrifices of the non-scholarship, collegiate football player. Division I full-ride guys receive voluminous individual write-ups in sports pages, while Division III student athletes barely get alphabetized team line scores in stat sheet sections. Where’s the friggin’ fairness on this planet!
What exactly is the impact on undergraduate enrollment of a Division III football program? I would argue it
