I truly enjoyed the character Rafe. He was quite enthralling. A beautiful story. Quite unlikely but books are about stretching the limits of what’s possible. A beautiful read.

Terrible. The storyline was extremely far fetched and unrealistic. Don’t Recommend.

So this dude repeatedly chokes and rapes his wife. He’s a textbook abuser. This book is an homage to domestic violence and marital rape. The girl has flashbacks years after she’s escaped from her abuser, who illegally deprives her of her child. This is not a book about redemption. He never takes responsibility for his actions. He’s never held accountable. He doesn’t seek therapy. He’s a ticking time bomb. A fucking nutcase.

If she survives the marriage without becoming a domestic violence statistic I would be shocked. He only doesn’t bully her the second time around because he has no leverage over her. She also can defend herself physically. That is the only reason he’s not bashing her around.

What a waste of trees and bytes. Nauseating.
