    PAIN AND SUFFERING

    You might not be able to avoid all pain but you can avoid suffering.

    Pain is an unavoidable part of life.

    Suffering is a dysfunctional and avoidable consequence of pain.

    PAIN

    Pain is a warning of injury or disease.

    And, while one should try to fix the cause, in the long-term, distraction or turning off the pain can be worthwhile, in the short-term.

    Pain can be dull and bearable or sharp and unpleasant.

    While the following methods can switch off pain, distract you from feeling pain or remove the hurt from pain, most do not remove the cause.

    If you cannot turn off the pain then relax so the pain does not hurt so much.
